Would it not be awesome to have a troop that is basically a walking freeze spell?
The Yeti would actually not do any damage, but would instead target defenses, pound the ground near the targeted defense, and an area slightly smaller than the freeze spell would get frozen briefly. I am thinking it would be like a shockwave effect where you see the "epicenter" of the freeze begin, and it spreads out to the appropriate area to be frozen. The freeze would be brief (maybe a couple seconds?), and could increase in length of time with upgrades. Maybe area covered could increase as well? It should be able to cover a square of 4 defenses bunched together I would think. Movement speed should not be that slow really. It should be able to keep up with most troops to be effective. Looking on google images... the concept of a yeti is pretty athletic looking. I am not saying it has to be as fast as hogs, but lets not have it as slow as giants eh?
- So I am thinking now it should do a little damage, but very little. Damage should occur to everything within this freeze radius as it moves from center outward. I say this only because if it got stuck at a wall it would be completely useless. It would need to attack something, or else it would just stand there. haha
Game Balancing:
It should attack slow, like a pekka, because being able to freeze defenses for too long too often would be really unfair. It would be best to defend against it by not grouping defenses too closely together. Walls are a huge enemy of this troop, so compartmentalization while still keeping a spread base would be very important. This troop should come available at the same TH as the freeze spell (TH10). Also, bringing 2 will never be that much of a benefit unless you spread them out (which always proves deadly for defensive targeting troops).
Stats:
DPS: minimal. Comparable to the damage caused by a shocker in boom beach? it will be splash, so let's consider that too.
Hitpoints: A TON! 2000? It should be able to get to the center of a base with help of other troops like some wiz, or a golem. it will be most effective when able to reach the inferno towers and xbows at the center.
Training Cost: Obviously this is a good troop, but man, golems are crazy expensive. I am thinkin not quite that much. They are a benefit, but they don't do any damage, so they will already need other crazy expensive troops to go with them to be effective.
Favorite target: Defenses
Damage Type: Splash (area effect)
Targets: Ground
Housing Space: 10? 15? 20? suggestions?
Training time: This should be a long time. freeze spell is what? 45 mins? that sounds about right.
Movement Speed: lets have a fastish moving big character for once. 20 sound good? 4 under hogs. but enough to stay ahead of the other defense seeking troops to work for them.
Any variant of this idea, a troop that will freeze or temporarily disable a small group of defenses would be awesome. It would just throw something new and fun into the game that could really open up attack possibilities for an attacker, and yet isn't so crazy that will be a mega benefit to any attack willing to spend whatever it takes to get 3 stars.
