    Good luck!
I've thought about it yesterday and it was very insightful. I agree that it's a bit too complex and some bits might be a little farfetched.
I usually start off with a concept and work on it as i make the thread.
I need your help tho, cause only slowing a target would make this defense really bland. A few suggestions before i alter anything.

    INFERNO:
Giving the Cold Finger an edge over the inferno tower was a bit ambitious i admit. It doesn't make much sense cause then it might as well deflect arrows.

    • It Doesn't clash with Inferno Towers.
    • The Inferno Towers heat overrules the Cold Fingers effect completely.
    • The Inferno Towers heat overrules the Cold Fingers freezing effect only.

    CHILLING & FREEZING:
I really would like to keep this option but freezing all troops might be a bit OP, yet that depends on whether it clashes with Inferno's or not.
Also freezing air units would just look plain stupid.

    • Both chilling and freezing affects all troops.
    • Chilling affects all troops, freezing affects only ground troops.
    • Both chilling and freezing affects only ground troops.
    • Chilling affects all troops, freezing affects only certain troops (Thick skin scenario).
    • Chilling affects all ground troops, freezing only certain ground troops (Thick skin, minus air units).

These are some options, suggest your own if you'd like. I could reduce the freeze time if necessary.
I would like to hear your suggestions on balancing the Cold Finger.

    Thanks!

    Cold Finger
    Suggestions:

    Cold Finger vs. Inferno
There would be a conflict between these two. The CF chills and freezes while the IT heats and burns enemies. Of course, fire melts ice. How about one of these suggestions?
    1. The troop frozen by the Cold Finger (CF) will receive double damage when the Inferno Tower (IT) starts firing at it.
    2. When a troop gets frozen by the CF and the IT starts firing at it, the frozen troop will be thawed twice the speed than how fast it thaws when frozen.
    3. Troops frozen by the CF are immune to the IT's heating effects.
    4. Conflict effect #2 will be applied along with a side effect: Recently-thawed troops are immune to the IT for 1 or 2 seconds.

    You can pick one...

    Troops and Freezing
Well some posts I've read here suggest that Air Troops can be frozen. Here's my suggestions, pick the one you like...
    1. All troops are affected by the CF's chilling and freezing effect.
    2. All troops are affected by the CF's chilling effect but only Ground Troops freeze.
    3. Only Ground Troops are affected by the CF's chilling and freezing effect.
    4. All troops are affected by the CF's chilling effect but Ground Troops can be frozen. There are some exceptions:

    • P.E.K.K.A.s and Golems (along with Golemites) are not affected by both effects.
    • P.E.K.K.A.s and Golems (along with Golemites) are affected by the chilling effect but they do not freeze.
    • P.E.K.K.A.s and Golems (along with Golemites) are affected by both effects.

Do you like one of them?

Other abilities, side effects, and disadvantages

    1. Like the X-Bow and the Inferno Tower, the Cold Finger must be loaded to function. But instead of Elixir or Dark Elixir, this defense has to be loaded with Gold to function.
    2. Melee-type troops (excluding the P.E.K.K.A., Golem, and Golemites) are affected by the CF's chilling effect once they reach the defense untouched by the beam. However, they do not freeze unless the beam hits them.
    3. Wizards and Dragons can deal double damage to these buildings. This is because Dragons breathe out fire that can melt ice and Wizards, at level 1, cast fireballs that can also melt ice. However, their doubled damage return to their normal base damage when slowed-down by the chilling effect.

    Destruction Animation? (optional)
Instead of the default building destruction animation, the Cold Finger, when destroyed, explodes (similar to the Giant Bomb's explosion) and lets out a chilling effect within a radius of 2 tiles. Unique, eh?
Well, it's up to you if you like it...

    Good luck and Clash On!

The fact I haven't replied on here yet shows you have a good idea, honestly. Look, I only post to complain. But I saw this going back pages and wanted to revive it secretly.

    *shh*

    Bravo

I like the general idea but I do not like the name. It's rather weird.

The idea has merit. However I don't think it should do damage, we have dps out the wazoo in this game already. Making it able to slow down the first troop it sees and targets makes a bit of sense. Would like to see this being a counterpart to the sweeper. Thus making it a ground troop defense.

I like the idea. However, here are some suggestions. The cost to load it is a bit high. I would probably make the cost to load it vary like the xbow. I would have lvl 1 unlock at th8 and then lvl 2 and 3 at th9. Also, while a troop is getting freezed does archer towers or cannons target it too?

No, I actually think it should be unlocked at town hall 11 when it comes out because we are all expecting a new tower to appear then.
