Buying gems with iTunes gift card

How do I buy gems with an iTunes gift card? My Apple ID is linked to my credit card and don't know how to use the gift card?? Help I'm new to this

Redeem the card. The balance will be added to your iTunes account. Then when you make a purchase, your balance will be used toward the purchase.

Redeem the card onto your account, and click on 'buy' in the app - your account's balance should automatically be charged for the purchase.

If you create a new account, as per the HT2534 page that you posted from, then you will need to delete the and re-download it with that new account - all content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it, so only that account can do in-app purchases in the app.

Give it about 30 minutes after redeeming. If it doesn't register they won't reimburse you.
