did a couple matches with level 1 golems, still alive at end of the fight, so why upgrade them? other experience the same thing?

2200 trophies, just got golems so testing them out, they still alive at the end of the fight.

My level 1 golems died within 40 secs when I used them. Just finished level 4 research, so will be trying them again (against decent TH8&9 village, not TH7...)
