Lol there's only one king and queen. Effect will still be the same: unusable. Unlike other troops, they're very many and aren't the only ones. Upgrading them would require upgrading one to upgrade all. In this situation, there's only 1 of each royals meaning, they're still gonna be unusable in wars or raids.

While I would also love heroes to work while upgrading this isn't the way to do it.
1) You would never be able to upgrade two heroes at once.
2) You would not be able to upgrade a hero and troop at the same time.
Ultimately this would drastically lower your upgrading potential.

Well how often are you upgrading both heroes at the same time anyway? And the max amount of time it'll ever take to upgrade is seven days, which isn't that bad. After some point of upgrading them, it's going to take time to replenish your dark elixir anyway.
I once proposed the idea of getting a dark troop laboratory. If Supercell is going to continue making new dark troops, it would only be beneficial to separate the two different kinds of troops into different laboratories. What do you think of this?

Please calculate the total heroes up time, total defenses up times and total troops up time for given th and you see that your idea is just very bad for time balance between workers and lab
