"I was patrolling on my Archer Tower when I saw the enemies approaching. A few Golems and a PEKKA were hiding a strange thing full of legs. I heard someone shouting in the Castle : "Kill her before she roots !" But it was too late : we were already taking a strike of bullets in the face."
An unknown Archer.
Hey everyone !
I know, a thousand of people ever proposed Giant Spiders in the "New troop & Spell Ideas" category. But wait and read ! I'm not talking of Giant Spider, I'm talking of Siege Spiders.
"What ?"
I'll explain :
The Siege Spider has two modes : the Long-range mode and the Web mode. You can choose your mode at the Dark Barracks and change it at every moment (except when you attack). The Spiders of the two modes are totally different. In both mode the Siege Spider look like a huge black/dark violet spider with double thick canons on it (Siege Mode) or a big canon and kind of pockets (Web mode).
The Siege mode :
The Siege Spider have to stick herself in the ground to attack. Sticking is relatively slow (2 seconds), but uprooting takes no time. Once sticking, the Spider have to wait to be fully stick to uproot or to attack. They attack in a straight line of bullets that hit everything they touch. The bullets began to hit a target at the beginning of the attack and move to hit a target 2 tiles behind at the end of the strike. One strike last 3s, and a Spider can't target anything else or uproot if she's still shooting bullets. Here are indicatives stats :
Preferred Target Attack Type Housing Space Training time Movement Speed Attack Speed Dark Barracks Level Required Training Cost Range DPS HP HDV - Defenses Ranged (ground) - Single target 25 35m 18 0.3s ???? 100 DE 8 - 10 (increases during the 3s strike) 120 85
The Web Mode :
While in Web mode, Siege Spiders throw webs (I know, I'm very sharp). Webs doesn't deal any damage but slow ennemy buildings. If the building is not destroyed one second after the web-attack, the Spider will release four little Baby Spiders (so cute !) that would target this building and then return to their mother to recover. As the Siege mode's, the Web mode Siege Spider have to root to release their babies.
Siege Spider stats (web mode) :
Preferred Target Attack Type Housing Space Training time Movement Speed Attack Speed Dark Barracks Level Required Training Cost Range DPS HP Defenses Ranged (ground) - Single target 25 35m 18 1.5s ???? 100 DE 4.5 0 85
Baby Spiders :
Preferred Target Attack Type Training time Movement Speed Attack Speed Range DPS HP Recovering/reloading time The building attacked by their mother Melee 35m 18 0.3s 0.3 tiles 55 20 15s/baby
- What makes this unit/spell unique compared to the other units/spells in the game
Their is no unit that can slow defenses in the game. Also, Clash of Clan seems to miss painfully of Long-Range artillery units. Long-Range Artillery units are very cool for some reasons that I would explain later. A unit that releases minions (and not only when it dies) is also a classical thing in strategy game, so I'm wondering why their is none in Clash.
- What kind of strategies this new unit would enable (concrete examples are best)
Some Giants/Golems would have to be deployed to protect the Spider while she's rooting. Also, their would just be two (Siege mode) or four (Web mode) Spiders by army because they're support units (as Healers).
- How someone could redo their base to protect against attacks from this unit
People would have to place their traps so the Spiders get killed before they root.
Hope you'll enjoy that new unit ! Check also out my other ideas : http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...the-kraken-%21
