Why don't we take free builders into battle.?
They will be able to clear any tree's mushroom's or gem boxes in our opponents base while the battle is still active.

But really, on a more serious note. This has been suggested MANY times before and most of us still disagree.. Why you ask? Unfairness. Oh look a player has not yet collected his gembox/es or haven't cleared out his obstacles! Yay, deploy a builder or more then bam, insta-gems. This will unbalance CoC's economy, so sorry, NO.
