Thread: Upgrade order

    Upgrade order

    Upgrading order




    1. Laboratory SHOULD always be the first first first thing you upgrade, because better troops: higher chance of winning a battle


    2. Mortar, great at splashing damage on archers and barbarians


    3. Wizard tower, great at splashing archers and minions


    4. Cannon, giants are present about one battle on 2 and cannons specialize on taking them down


    5. Walls, most people think that walls are useless but in my opinion, they're so good defence, even better than the mortar because when most people are up to fight someone with high level walls, they press next before even checking the base design( happens to me quite often). Walls level 8 and 9 are quite scary . During this upgrade, I highly recommend you guys to upgrade your barracks. Did you ever felt like you didn't want to get revenged with 10 dragons?( that's how you feel when you see all barracks level 10)


    6. Army camps, more troops = higher chance of winning a battle


    7. Clan castle, this is the strongest defence in all the game. 10-30 archers coming out from your clan castle is probably the thing that will slow your army the most. The only problem with this defence is: two attacks in a row ( first wave kill the troops and second wave gets a higher chance of winning) and your clan( if there are only trolls that give goblins and wbreakers).


    8. Xbows if you have townhall level 10,


    9. Spell factory, can make a big difference when you start a battle with only 1 mortar left to destroy


    10. dark elixir drill, more dark elixir => better barbarian king and archer queen => higher chance of victory


    11. Archer tower, can kill troops that hav a lot of hp fast( giants, healer, wizard) but are weak against group of barbs, minions and archers.


    12. Air defence and hidden tesla, both take a really long time to upgrade, I would recommend divide the job. 2 builder for tesla and 2 builder for air defence. It's upgrading slowly, but you upgrade two stuff at the same time ( this is to avoid getting 4 air defence in construction)


    13. Dark barracks, they have low hitpoint, upgrading them makes it harder for your opponent to get 50% and slow their army a little bit.


    14. The only thing left are mines and collectors, I think it's useless to upgrade them and you should just skip this step but, if you're an inactive player, this is a good option


    15. Townhall, finally








    ===> I didn't mention the storages because I think they should always be maxed anyways , but if you didn't, upgrade them right after the clan castle.








    this is my current upgrade order. Do you guys know how to improve it? Tell me what you think about this .

    Walls should be upgraded with gold inbetween upgrades. Finish walls to fast and you have no gold to waste on them. Aka capped gold all the time
    And xbows are th9 not th10. And get them up asap. They are very powerful
    Also. Teslas should be a major prioity. level 6 fries archers in a shot

    You beat me to it. Teslas are the most underrated tower in the entire game. Above level 5 they are wicked deadly and when placed smart, can change the momentum of the entire battle. Makes for my favorite replays every time. :-)

    i would do archer towers before cannons since they shoot air and do about the same damage

    Thanks for your advice.
    I don't upgrade my wall to the max level, only level 7 for TH8.
    I did this because my base is kind of maze, no need to max wall, so I used the gold to upgrade other defense.

    If the Clan Castle is the most important defence then why put it so far down the list? Xbows are unlocked at TH9, walls should be upgraded with spare gold during upgrade and Teslas are the mot powerful and under-rated point defence.

    If the LAB is #1 then ARMY CAMPS should be #2 for the same reason...More troops equals better chances at getting the loot... And more loot solves ALL problems!

    Edit: It'd probably be good to separate the list by gold/elixir upgrades

    I upgrade Archers Towers, Cannons, mines/collectors, Mortars, Wizard Towers, Storages(as needed), Army Camps, Barracks, and Labratory in that order. Walls I usually upgrade in between projects or just whenever I have enough gold.

    Archer towers are more expensive and take longer.
