Musta been a slow news day that day

letting her TEN year old play an online game on HER phone, seeing how unhappy it makes him but letting him keep playing nonetheless.... Yeah sure must be the games fault, right? Of course!

Its not like she no had control over the device or hey here is an idea, maybe step in with some parenting skill, no? Clearly it must be SC's fault.

Im absolutley speechless that this drivel qualifies for journalism these days, or parenting for that matter!

This article is so stupid. Life is full of exclusions and rejections, may as well get used to it early. This isn't "bullying", it's just life.

This flip side of that coin is that you can endear yourself to perfect strangers through mutual respect and cooperation. In one clan, I was so respected that the Leader (a total stranger to me) demoted himself and promoted me to Leader because he felt I could run the clan better. How about they write an article on that?

What this article amounts to is that society has become a bunch of mamby pamby sissies. You must be happy and appeased at all time. If not, then you are a victim and someone else is a bully, racist, sexist, etc etc. it's so dumb

I agree man!! They are turning males nto pansy girlies

really? where has the world gotten into? Parents don't know how to raise boys anymore, see that one who said that a "bullying" has taken place? That's just stupid.

Not letting the kid into a game is bullying? Why? the kid deserved it, he did something to deserve that, and he should learn to deal with that and learn how other people react to what he does instead of parents yelling

    "BULLYING"

Everything is bullying nowadays, the world is teaching boys how to be "PANSY ♥♥♥" instead of growing up as strong and rational "men". That is the reason why you now see more suicide rates among human males (I said males not men).

What parents should be doing is let boys be boys and not interfere in any play stuff that kids do. I agree taht boys should be climbing trees and running around tho, instead of doing video games. Rogh housing is the best for of play.

When my 6 year old kid complains someone has been bullying her, instead of yelling at the other parent, I coach my kid on how to box and how to "defend" herself. She doesn't complain to me anymore.

But now the "past bullies" now come to me said that my kid just punched him. I know why and I don't care. He probably deserved it. That's how you teach kids to deal with bullies.

AND NO!! No bullying happened in the story! Nowhere!

If the kid can't handle being rejected in a game, he is in for a rude awakening in real life.

It's a shame. You sound as clueless as the guy who wrote the article.

These games can, and are, enjoyed by millions of players that spend no money.

Maybe you just need a new hiding place for your credit cards if you're that worried.

Plus it might even save you money on Xbox games

At 13, if she has no concept of the value of money yet, your doing something wrong.

Found this in the comment section, which resonated with me:

Let me see if I understand this. Child demotes classmate. Parents meddle and force child to reinstate classmate. Friends react by forming new clan without child whose parents meddled in the game. Is that right?

Meddling in a clan rank structure of an online game takes helicopter parenting to a whole new level. Do these parents supervise picking teams at recess?

I downloaded this game at the request of my boys and I thought it would be a nice way to bond with them. One year later, my 13-yr-old has stopped playing while my 11-yr-old plays only casually and usually at my request. Meanwhile, I remain so addicted that I'm actually on a Clash of Clans forum! I'm 46.
