    GOWIPE strategy

    So ive noticed that a lot of people are using this strategy and its very effective. Ive lost my last few clan wars due to the enemy using this strategy and found its very overpowered. I was wondering if this is something that should be nerfed. I know that it doesn't 3 star everytime but it is very close to if used right. I suggest that either a new defense could put a dent in this strategy or change a current defense to do something like times 2 damage or something of that nature.

    GoWiXX is a solid 2 star strategy. Should very, very rarely be 3 stars. If you want to stop it make more compartments.

    is there a specific defense tower I should put into the compartment?

    GoWipe is nowhere near overpowered.

    Yes, it's very effective TH9+, but not overpowered. If used right, it should get a 2 star, but almost never a 3 star.

    Also, it's quite hard to use now due to skeleton traps recently being added (pekkas take forever to take down multiple, weak individual targets)

    I don't see a reason to nerf this strategy.

    Is GoWiPe golem wizard pekka, or golem witch pekka? I can't respond well without knowing the troop combo.

    It is Golems, WIZARDS, and PEKKAs. However, there is a different variation called "GoWiWi", which replaces PEKKAs with Witches. If there is a "GoWiWiPe" strategy (I'm potentially just making this up), it is probably all of the above troops.

    Compartmenting is the Key

    GoWipe and GoWiWi really aren't that overpowered, when they are defended against properly. As long as a lot of your base is in compartments it will seriously slow down the attack and prevent 3 stars. The problem with th 9&10'desogns, is that most try to put everything inside the walls. But by sticking collectors, mines, barracks, camps, and other non defensive buildings on the outside of the walls, it leaves more room for adding compartments to your base, and also increases the chances for heroes, and even the golems or pekkas to be distracted and run of course rather than to the middle of the base.

    Another trick ice would be leaving open spaces on the inside of the first section of walls, compartment them of course, but try to guide the troops around the base, so that the long range defenses have more time to pick off the army. The ,oat effective way to defend against GoWipe is to compartment and to distract the army to get them off course.

    im sorry you feel like this but the only way to truely have a chance defending from gowiwi or gowipe is with infernos and the extra defence buildings you get at th 10.. Think on the possitive side. When you upgrade your troops to enhance ur attacking ability you will be less inclind to feel this way... Dw the only way u can improve is to tweek ur base each war and set traps accordingly on the side that the majority of players have attacked you. And stuff like that, alittle bit like tweeking your defence for lavaloonion strat by setting ur air mines around your air defence to kill the lavas and air bombs in between air def to take out the lava pups ect.
    Just keep thinking stratigically and you will be fine also upload ur war base to the base strategy page to get some advise

    Am I the only one that sees GoWiWi & thinks of the old Metal Mickey TV show?

    I saw an interesting interview with the guys that designed hearthstone & they were saying that they tried to balance cards but then players used them in combinations & ways that they didn't envision. They kept detailed stats & noticed that in most cases where an OP strategy/combo was found most players then switched to that. After a while other players came up with a defensive combo (again, not one that was considered during development) to counter it so everyone switched to that, & so it went. Players gathered info on the latest best combos from the interweb so they could adapt quickly, & only rarely did the developers need to revisit a power & nerd it or introduce something to counter it.

    now I know there are plenty of sites & videos around showing the 'ultimate' defence layout or the 'ultimate' attack combo but before nerfing specific combos, which could then have devastating flow on effects & render other combos useless, maybe someone could put up the ultimate defence per 'standard' attack combo? That way everytime a new fad attack combo comes along people can research & implement the latest fad defence against it. This would mix the game up more frequently & possibly cause frequent changes in attack combos to counter the changing defences which would keep the strategists thinking & devising.
