How does Dark Eliqir work?

Iv got the mine but it produces nothing, just got the dark eliqir storage and nothing? Do i have to get the drill too before i get any dark eliqir? Cheers

You either need a dark elixir drill or to raid it from other people. You can start doing that once you have a DE storage.

Yes, you have to get the drill or steal it from someone.

There are technically three types of resources -

Elixir (the purple one) - produced by Collectors
Gold - produced by Gold Mines
Dark Elixir (the black one) - produced by Drills

Yes, you need the drill to produce Dark Elixer but you can also steal it by attacking others and it will be stored in the Dark Elixir Storage.

Ok thanks guys, just it is so expensive i wondered if i had to get it?
if you attack and someone has it do you automatically get it or do you have to do something to steal it?

...dark elixir works like gold or elixir. Simple as that. You can produce resources yourself from your own village's buildings, steal it from other people, or earn it as a loots bonus in war (for starring a TH7 or above generally) or general matchmaking (if your league is high enough). That's it.

You use it for heroes and for recruiting and upgrading the dark barracks troops.
