TH Sniped My Way to Master lll

Hey All,

Just thought I would share my experience with everyone TH sniping my way to Master league. I have seen a few post with people asking if it's possible with the new match making system. Just thought I would let everyone know it is possible for a TH8.

Why?
I really wanted a 5th builder and wasn't in the mood to spend $5-$10 just to get it. Also the DE bonus is

How long did it take?
It took me about 5 days of playing, mainly 3-4 hours at night because I work.

How did I do it?
Patience really is the key here. Take your time and minimize risk. If there is a base with the TH that looks like its a trap...it probably is. So if you don't have the man power skip by it (where the patience comes in). In Crystal league you will probably find an exposed TH before the gold from your previous raid expires, but its nice to have at least 200k golds before starting your search. To save the most loot/time use your BK if the TH is in the corner. If your BK is being upgrade or you suspect it may be a trap drop some archers on the dark green edge. This usually prevents traps from going off in the first place. Once in a great while you may find a base that you should wipe out. For instance a Lvl 7 TH worth 54 trophies. Take it out and boost your barracks so you can keep playing. Always leave about 30-50 archers pre-cooked. Ignore the urge to lose trophies for loot. Some people will put their storage's outside their walls. Don't attack unless you know you can get at least 1 star. Aside from those small tips there are plenty of TH sniping guides that will help.

Getting to Crystal l didn't take long but the last 200 trophies took a while. The new match making system does make it challenging. The most common opponent I would get is TH7/8s with no loot worth 1 trophy. If it wasn't those bases it would be strong Th9/10. Didn't see too many rushed bases or easy kills to stack trophies.

6-Lvl 3 Dragons
4-LVl 5 Giants
5-Lvl 2 Minions
50-Lvl 5 archers
2-Lvl 4 Rage Spells
1-Lvl 4 Heal Spell
Lvl 9 Barbarian King (when he wasn't being upgraded)

Tips (things that I noticed and may or may not help you)
- Make a farm base. Unless you are a high level 9 or level 10 TH you will get wrecked.
- Play in spurts. As soon as you log out you put yourself at risk of losing 1-20 (maybe more)trophies. So if you are going to play make sure your phone is charged/charging and commit to it.
- Play on the weekends. This may or may not be true but I noticed a lot more exposed THs on Friday-Sunday than during the week
- Use your loot, specially DE. Less incentive for higher level peeps to demolish your village. Upgrade your walls and heros. PE accumulates quick as you typically don't use much and the bonuses stack nicely(Keep the lab busy).
- Keep the clan castle full
- Take advantage of your shield
- Make sure your connection is stable. Quick story. I loss connection as I was attacking. Lost 28 trophies then lost another 20 as I shut down and reconnected. 2 hours of work gone in seconds.
- If you need more gold to search...take it from the goblins
- Check your log. Most people that attack you also have exposed THs. No bonus but trophies are the goal.
- Understand you are TH sniping...with very rare exceptions this is all you should be doing.
- Lastly, most importantly, be patient! You will get there. Don't get desperate and fall for lvl 9/10 TH traps. Dont raid villages unless you know you will 3 star. Loot will come easily with the bonus. Don't raid a village unless you get at least 15-20 trophies.

Aftermath
I'm sitting at Master lll still. I usually only lose about 1-8 trophies every time my shield expires. Still TH sniping and collecting that fat bonus. Trying to get to the champion league for 2000 more gems.

It's a legit strategy, but often not very fulfilling. But good on the gems for the builder

I'm trying. I'm a TH 7 and I need the DE bonus because my bk is still lvl 1.

Before the update I climbed up to Crystal 2 with no TH snipes (didn't find any). I just took trophies from other TH8s by 3 staring them, occasionally taking on a TH9 for 2 stars (maybe even 3 stars). Loot was just terrible though, so terrible I started running out of elixir.

After update I found climbing up a whole lot easier and also finding good loot. With some effort it is possible to find a TH8 or TH7 which offers good trophies (takes lots of searching though), and there's still the option of attacking someone with good loot but with low trophy offer. I've actually done my last DE lab upgrades and Archer Tower level 10 upgrades by "farming" on master 3

I don't think a TH8 needs to rely on TH snipes to climb to master 3. If you can find some then good, but attacking for 3 stars seems like the better option.

One trick than can help a bit is to restart search when trophy offers go too low. This forces the matchmaking to give you higher trophy offers for a while (until it goes down a again), at the expense of getting more TH9/10 matches.

TH7 I recommend crystal ll. Make a farm base and copy what I did. Its just time consuming and sometimes a little discouraging but stick with it.

Pretty lucky most of all the Th8s I saw only gave 1 trophy as well as TH7s Once in a great while I would find one for 10+ that I would attack but not very often.
