They are clearly not the same.

my mini ranked 14 my gold offering is 48000 with 170 de in my current war.
The 12 is offering 46800 with 171 de.

He is much more developed than my mini. as he has lvl 4 tesla, lvl 6 wiz towers all lvl6AD and some max cannon and AT.
My defense stopped at th7 max other than AD. one of my tesla is lvl 1 the other 2 are lvl 3.

he is obviously ranked 2 spots higher than me.

To complicate things further. we have a totally max th8 mini in our clan. his war weight was 49500 180 de and has remained stable though 3 wars.

just to add to this, the clan we were warring was nice enough to let me in to get some numbers.

a max th8 is 49500 listed on during the raid.
However his total available added to 326700. divided by 6 gives the weight of 54450

the 12 that was listed above me was 308880 divided by 6 is 51480

and my account was 285120 divided by 6 is 47520

all which seem to fall more into line.

Simply taking the small gold total seen is not the same thing as a war weight.

You need the numbers to do the math, there is a nice post here on how i got these numbers

    http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...lculate+weight

This is one messy post. Please edit it because it barely makes any sense.

    1) war weights are multiples of 1000. Don't post 47520, it is confusing. This is the sum of the resources in your storages as seen by an equal or lower town hall. If you are a higher town hall, please account for it. The resources in your storages are always 1/6 of the loot offering without the extra loot. If your clan gets extra loot, please account for it. The loot offering then changes.

    2) Position on the map is decided when a co-leader presses 'start war'. War loot is decided at the end of preparation day. That's why a higher base on the map may offer less resources. Don't forget to account for town hall penalty for such calculations. If your 12 and 14 are different town hall levels it might confuse you.

    Cheers

    Edit-> to help you out:
you should have got 14's weight correct. its 48K
    12's weight should be 46800/0.9 = 52K
    a max th8 is 49500/0.9=55K

    About loot offerings:

Obviously the enemy clan has clan perk 3, so a max 8 gives to a town hall 9 attacking:
    55000*6*1.1*0.9=326700
    12:
    52000*6*1.1*0.9=308880
    14:
    48000*6*1.1*0.9=285120

I'm not trying to bait anything. I can also tell you truly have nothing to contribute to the thread other than mindless troll posts.

    @ slim

yeah if you read the next thread of mine down i kind of explained why those numbers a bit off. I multiplied by .9 instead of divided by 1.1 for the clan bonus. I listed new numbers below that post. 55000 for a max th8

I don't think the gold available on the raid has anything to do with what is in storage. As our max th8 has had the same amount available in each raid but his loot has varied as he dumps it but starting a th upgrade and then cancels it. Just to waste the gold.
I am not sure how they figure out that number.

Do you happen to know the weight of the TH. at th9 and th10.
I have read it's 1000 but I am not sure. I am going to wait for my upgrades to finish and then get a before and after th upgrade weight for th9 within a few weeks just to check it.

It's not worth discussing anything or even answering to trolls. I can understand that someone disagrees with my theory, and when they explain why do they disagree I'm grateful cause then I know what and where to look for. But few of these people are trolls wannabes, so it's best to report the insults and ignore.

sorry if it was already answered in the thread, I was searching through it but didn't see it.

So the actual TH building doesn't have a weight? it isn't until the person builds or upgrades another item that their base score increases?

The 'weighting mystery' has not been revealed or solved, and as long as you think your (defensive-based) war loot offered is your 'weight' in war matchmaking, it never will be. It is at best a rough estimate for similarly-developed players, which explains why hunts and scrimmage attempts often search for long periods or fail outright. I do hope a better match-anticipating method is discovered, and I'm certain it will have to factor in at least troops and spells along with defenses, walls, and heroes, but you have to break the current, flawed 'war weight' paradigm before it can be found.
