Well you can't control so much whether they will ask for something from the silo or the barn. But if it is the silo items they are requesting you can sort of "control" that.

They either ask for the 2 items you have most of or the item you have 0 of. You want to avoid them asking for the silo item you have 0 of so to avoid that make sure you have at least 1 apple, 1 cherry, 1 coffee bean, 1 blackberry and so on. Also you should have at least one of each crop.

Here are a few pics of my silo inventory. In my case if the visitors ask for silo stuff they will always ask for wheat and corn. However in my case if they want my corn or a lot of my wheat I shouldn't sell it immediately but grow extra first. They will wait around if you tell them to wait. The reason for that is that if they want half my corn and I sell it my corn will no longer be my number 2 and they will ask for carrots. I want to sell the 2 fastest growing crops to them.

That justifies! And it even seems to be inline with orders from barn: now I see why they come out of a sudden and ask 1 potato bread or 14 popcorn when I have 0.

One more question: while you have 425 wheat, do they come and ask for half, meaning around 200?

Yes this happens for the barn too. They regularly ask for stuff you have 0 of. Probably you had 14+ popcorn in your barn recently. Lots of people ask why the barn doesn't list the items you don't have. I look at it as a little reminder to make that stuff

Very often they roughly (very roughly) ask for half of what you have. So yes they could come for about 200 wheat. I have a visitor waiting now for 180 wheat. It depends a little on when it was prompted the visitor is about to visit. I have gone up to amounts of 600-700 wheat and they have asked for about 300-400 wheat. One of my neighbours has a silo much bigger then mine and does this a lot. He can hardly keep up growing the stuff with visitors wanting amounts like 700 wheat.

Thank you very much! I now revise my strategy for the silo upgrade. I knew that people earn materials by planting and harvesting wheat, but my silo was too small to run more than 4 or 5 iterations, and little people didn't help me that much.

I'll try again, armed with this new knowledge

    Your welcome

It takes a bit of getting used to the frequency and intervals and such and if the visitors don't shop up fast enough you could also use your shop with smaller silos you run into the limits much faster.

If I feel my visitors don't show up fast enough I fill my shop with wheat at a very low price and advertise 10 max strawberries. If you're lucky it stays up a while and surprisingly the wheat sells very fast. I do change my farm name to something like "cheap wheat" as this will show up as the farm name in the Daily Dirt.

    Good luck

The short answer is simple: "Enough" is always two or three hundred more than I have.

Again, not an obvious, but pretty reasonable idea - to advertise 10 strawberry for max price. I used to advertise 10 wheat for 1 coin itself: it's been wiped out like storm, but them 30 minutes to wait...

Little people continue to come, and I've noticed that same rule works for barn requests. What I do is producing chicken food, eggs, and bread. They do come for that!

Yeah I have tried advertising the wheat itself for 1 coin too but that sells immediately. You have to be lucky though with the strawberries but when you do you could have it for over half an hour and you still have that advertisement running. I have tried blackberry muffins, chili popcorn, wool and such. The only thing I didn't try was bacon and eggs but that's just my pet peeve. I just buy the strawberries I need for that as growing them just takes too long.

Yes same rule applies for the barn. When I was still working on the Patronage achievement I always worked on having eggs and milk and such in pretty high quantities so those were my numbers 1 and 2 quite often or I at least tried that. Sometimes I sold 30-40 or 50 eggs to them and they do pay pretty good coins for eggs and crops.

You can have more then 999 of 1 particular item in your barn or silo. It did cause an issue for a player in the past and he was locked out of his game for a while however that issue was solved and doesn't cause issues anymore.

How much storage you need depends on your playing style. Once you have all the machines there are over 70 barn products to produce and store not including saws and axes and mining equipment and expansion items.

Currently my barn is 2300 and my silo 1400 and I am still expanding both. My silo is way behind because earlier in the game with limited barn space I prioritized other things. At 400+ barn space it does seem like you are storing a ton of expansion items to upgrade but it can be well worth it. The good news is once you reach 1,000 barn space the increment for each upgrade is 50 instead of 25.

A big silo is useful for 'wheat spamming' or 'wheating'. If you don't need to grow other crops you grow wheat over and over again. By clearing lots and lots of wheat fields you get a lot of expansion items, saws, axes and mining equipment and you are hardly ever short on saws, axes and mining equipment. Items you don't need you can sell or trade. You sell the wheat you grow to these walking visitors. As long as you have at least one of each crop and fruit they will come for the number 1 and 2 item so make sure that's the wheat and corn. The more you have the higher the quantity they want to buy so you can keep this going for quite a while or dump it in your shop at a very low price.

Having a big barn is also useful when you want to hire Tom to stock up on a lot of things. I recently hired him for 10 days to stock up on diamond rings, shovels, necklaces, bracelets and jams. If you want to do something like that you really need a few hundred barn space to start with. He really filled up my barn.

Anyway those are just a few examples of my playing styles and every one should play the way they want to play.
hi friend. my barn 1400 yet,but every expansion I got only 25 instead of 50.what should I do?
