Actually Curious about this (Gemming)

First off i'm level 92, TH9, Max defenses (except for 1 x-bow, and 2 canons). 208 walls are level 9 (legos i believe some people call them) AQ is level 22 Barb King is level 18. Troops are maxed (currently upgrading witches to level2). Yet every time i get on global people call me a gemmer. I only have around 34 mill gold raided, 30 mill elixir, and 13 k DE.

The amount it takes to upgrade that much is at least 10 times the amount you raided.

No, they're not jealous. They are actually being derisive because it appears that instead of purchasing gems to assist your gameplay, you used them to skip over vast amounts of it. Therefore, the development your gameplaying skills have not kept pace with the speed of your base development.

Folks assume that someone who has paid their way to the top doesn't know what he's doing. It's the same in the real world as well; "gemmers" haven't "earned their chops" in the field, so it seems very likely that they are spectacularly incompetent at a high level, which makes them a liability that no clan playing at a high level can afford.

Only poor war clans are likely to let a statistically unskilled TH9 anywhere near their wars. You may have to lower your expectations for awhile in order to be given a chance to prove your worth, but right now you are being judged on the basis of your poor playing stats.

Very few clans, if any, will allow them to get skilled.

I think people feel they are demonstrating skill by not paying to upgrade their bases, plus it requires a lot of patience. Seeing someone bypass these two often provokes some some hostility.

Watching videos is not a substitute for experience. And there's no reason why anyone on global should believe that you are able to always score 2-3 stars against another TH9 at your level, as expected, when your other playing stats are so pathetic.

Watching videos only helps to get the experience. You still have to get experience by attacking.

In my first clan, which had no real entry requirements, we actually had folks at TH9 join us, pick off TH7s during the war, and then punch out. Not saying that you ever did something like that, but you can see how your other low stats would certainly invite the suspicion that you don't know how to play well.

I sympathize for you. Nothing wrong with gemming. It's people like you that keep the game free. However, in general, gemmers are low-skilled, because they didn't learn how to attack through long hours of raiding. Try to get your gold grab and so on up, or prove to some good clans that you know how to attack.

You do realize that you are trying to decipher the minds of people who give out free co-leader to anyone with a purple badge and then cry over here when their entire clan has been kicked?

Giving free co will allow people who got co to kick all the people in the clan below their rank (elders, members). +1

You made one mistake: Go on Global. Don't even listen to the people there!

I have gotten 3 people from there, in 2 months. Sometimes, it's interesting, so I go on global.

I am a TH7, level 62 with only 1.26 million GG and 1.20 million EE and 541 HH. Yet no one complains about my GG, EE, and HH. I never spend gems, except for 1 gem boosts and builders.

I once witnessed a bunch of people harrassing on a guy with a maxed TH10 calling him a "gemmer", and asking him how much he spent on the base, then when they looked at his profile and saw that he had 2 bill GG and EE they changed their tune to calling him a "no-lifer".

If you go to global chat just remember "Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".

You misunderstood me. I meant this as in you've gotten to where you are (ingame) with buying your way into the game and missing out on experience and game knowledge.

Such a biased statement. I am rich, yet i choose not to spend money on this game. Because i don't want to be an unskill gemmer, and honestly i feel much better about my base this way.

Now i'm actually curious as to why i get all this hate when i get on global chat. Is everyone jealous of my base, me having money to spend, or what? Am i gemming correctly? Is there even a correct way to gem? Why do i get so much hatred for this method?

It's an interesting conundrum.

I find myself (I'm a mid-Th10, never done any gemming) paired up against an equivalent Th10 in wars often. The main difference is I often find them to be gemmers. As soon as I find this out, I relax and realise they don't have the experience to assault even a decent Th9 well.

I think that's the issue - experience. This game, well, the attacking side to this game is reliant on experience. If you never raid then... People think you're a scrub.

I don't mind gemmers. They pay for the updates.
