There are 2 kind of leagues for TH trappers:

    - In lower leagues (lower than gold1): They are just noobs or trolls or they really think attacker will waste the troops. But They dont know nobody need cups in lower leagues!!! also bonus is negligible.

    - In higher leagues(above C3): some trappers needs cups, some think the attacker will waste troops for bonus because now it is worth it specially for TH7 and TH8.

IMO TH trapping is a good strategy when you are in higher leagues and you have no loot

That's just being annoying. So a guy gives you a shield for your loot and you take theirs? Trolls these days..

I donīt get it, too. I rarely snipe, but when I do and i recognize the TH is trapped by placing one barb, I change my strategy immediately and destroy the whole village, except the TH. Is I have some barbs/archers left, I trigger some of the traps on the TH.

Traps are much more worth inside a village, donīt know how often the traps inside my village prevented me from getting raided more. Very often the attacker can get maximum 50% of my loot, because there are to much traps inside my village, most of them would have catched much more if my traps would have been arounf my TH... Next thing is, it would be so annoying to re-trap all the time for 70000 gold...

Also, when sb. decides to trap his TH and the first tried to snipe, the next attacker will snipe it easily, though. So I donīt get this, for me itīs one of the most useless things you can do in this game. Only thing I understand a little bit is the part to have some funny replays...

I think those who really waste their troops on a trapped TH are only children who donīt really know yet what the came is about actually.

I have 2 members in my Clan who trap their TH all the time. And mostly I see their villages raided to 98%, so everything is destroyed, except the TH, so I canīt be the only one who is doing this strategy-change when I see a trapped TH.

I always drop a barb or arch to check out and if someone's trolling I see it as a benefit; he doesn't have teslas and gbomb near his storages . Just attack from another side and punish him for that. My army comp is most of the time 12 giants, 6 wb, 4-5 wiz, 10 barb, 15 mins, 4 hogs and archers. (max th9 troops bk15 aq17)

I'm one of THOSE guys. I massively trap my TH with both land based and air defs. A lot of people do care about trophies, and the thought of losing say 32 trophies once committed, is too much for them to accept. Usually, they will dump a ton of troops to get my TH, I get my shield, and they get almost no loot. They can't attack any more because they had to dump their whole army to take my TH. The smart ones occasionally do go with an all out attack right then, but its rare. Also, I love the awkward pauses in the action as they try and figure out what to do. I just find it hugely funny. Then there's always the bonus of going back to revenge them for having the nerve to attack me, and I always attack full on. That's just the way I roll

Lol I don't do it for a free shield. I do it for the giggles and knowing the player thinking they got a free score wants to kick their dog. The whining here is a bonus.

When I'm raiding and I see an exposed TH, I'll drop a single archer near it. If it's not trapped then I'll drop a few more archers to finish it off and give them a shield. If it is trapped I say "oh well, he doesn't want a shield" and move on.

Whether I send the rest of my army against the rest of their base depends entirely on how much loot they have and not whether the TH was trapped.

BTW: I couldn't care less about trophies. If I get 99% of the loot but only 49% damage and forget to get the TH, that's a win for me.
    I agree 100%!

    Tears of frustration

Some people enjoy the taste of tears. Surely this is not a surprise to you?
