So how much do walls and royals really matter in matchmaking now?

I have over half lavas, 20/25 royals, and all my defenses except my point defenses are maxed for a TH9. Most of my clan has been following the same philosophy of upgrading walls and royals as priority. However, we haven't really seen harder matchups after the update. What I feel like I have been seeing though is more of our opponents having maxed defenses, but still under-upgraded walls, troops, and royals. We have been on a streak since the update too.
So, do walls and royals still have that much weight in the matchups? If they do, am I just seeing more opponents who rushed all of their defenses while neglecting the other two? Am I just seeing higher opponents defensively who did not follow the old rule of walls and royals before defenses?

Idk but I've been getting matched with some premie town hall 9s lately but I have legos and they have grapes

In war my defenseless mini (almost full lv6 walls, th7) is still placed under our newest member, who is th5 with underleveled walls and defences.

So my guess is, not so much.

I only have my own personal experiences to go on, but I'm a max TH9 with all legos and a hand full of lavas with lvl 17 AQ and lvl 15 BK.

So far in Masters II I find myself mostly being matched against TH10s, both maxed and a lot of rushed TH10s. Every once in a while I"ll get handed a Mid TH9 and once in a while (rare) I'll see a TH8. I'm making good money here at least, but it's hard dealing with lavas when I don't have access to the freeze spell myself.

It sucks a little but as long as the loot keeps coming in (and it is nicely) I'm going to stay at TH9 until heros are 25ish and almost complete my lavas.

As a newish TH10 with 227 lavas and 25/21 royals, I am ranked 4/9 out of our TH10's
I have lvl 2 infernos and my new xbow is level 2, my new AT and cannon are around lvl 8

Several players ranked below me have
level 3 inferno's/xbows, level 12 AT's, Level 8 Teslas, hero's approx 15 and walls around level 8

Conclusion.
Walls and hero's have a considerable weighting.
