More than I way to play the game, and lucky more than one type of clan to be in. I'd do my best to totally break apart any clan that had a little hitler that told me what I can and can't upgrade, what base to attack, what army to use, where to place spells, how to sit wile I'm playing, what to eat for breakfast before a war day.... ... Forget that, would break that clan into little bits.

Nothing is more fun to me than being part of a team of kick ♥♥♥♥ equals, not a team of druids controlled by some sort of dalek overload.
I hate to be a kicker,
    I always long for peace,
But the wheel that does the squeaking,
Is the one that gets the grease.

This strategy was nerfed by the new update. It longer helps to wait.

OneHive, ClashHeads, and the various podcast clans have all explored this topic in detail.
Anyone who has had severely rushed Town Halls in their war clan can refute this.

The war map seems to refute this as well. My clan has a rushed 10 we rarely let in war. When I was maxed TH9 he was a TH10 with TH7 or 8 troops, lower heros, defenses, and no infernos, yet he was in the position above most of the actual TH9s.
I've also seen several TH10s on enemy teams that are clearly weaker then their TH9s yet ranked higher then a lot of them, position on war map and loot wise.

As for loot, yes. Those rushed th 10 will give more loot than a th 9. But in my case they usually are placed below the max th 9. The only logical explanation if a rushed th 10 with no inferno ranked above a th 9 is if they built the 3rd xbows and extra archer towers and cannons.

Anyway I'm not against the th 9.5 idea but I'm not going for it either. I mean, I don't upgrade to th 10 just because the th looks cool you know.

This is the logic that I see in all of these x.5 posts. You position on the war map is ONLY calculated on your defensive buildings so to use it as evidence of war matching weights for both offense AND defense is naive. If you left all of your defenses as a TH9 but upgraded all of your troops, camps, spells to max TH10 you would remain in the same position on the map. However, I am certain that your offensive upgrades would make a significant increase to your clans weight for war match ups.

I've still seen ZERO evidence in any of these posts for how much offensive upgrades contribute to overall clan matching. Until someone puts together a clan of all 8.5's or 9.5's and puts them through a series of match ups all this 'fact' that people keep quoting is pure conjecture.

IMO x.5 is a way of ensuring that you get easier match ups at the expense of your clan mates.

If you already have TH10's in your clan then you will get matched with some TH10's on the opposition side. They will crush a 9.5 far more easily than a 10 with ITs.

Since the update there are countless threads from max TH9's and 9.5's complaining about how unfair it is being matched with premmie TH10's so whats the value of going 9.5?

TH7 or 8 troops is NOT what we're talking about here. A true 9.5 upgrades war troops with all haste.

That TH10 was likely above the 9's because they had an extra archer tower, cannon, giant bomb, etc.

And I'm not saying there is no effect. I'm just telling you it is widely believed town hall level plays little role in matchmaking compared to infernos.

None of the 9.5 'evidence' is fact. But a large collection of people's experiences is a good indication. Being a 9.5 and being matched against a premie TH10 is GREAT. In fact, it's what I typically see. I went to TH10 for the war troops. I can often 3 star the premie TH10 I am matched against and then either 3 star a maxed TH9 or aim for a high TH10 (top of enemy clan) and get an easy 2 star.
