    Why does the town hall (7+) have battlements on the roof? Add lookouts?

    There could be optional archers on the roof of your clan castle which would shoot arrows (or other missiles) at attackers. They should be able to be turned on or off (for bases with external town halls). This would make sense considering the battlements already exist and its what they are meant used for!

    Should the archers be permanent, donated by your clan or Troops from your own barracks?

    Sorry if this had already been suggested - I could not find it in the ruled out ideas thread.

    and the battlements are obviously just for looks.

    The Town Hall is not a defensive building. You cannot add ranged troops on the battlements on TH7 - 10. Obviously, those battlements are for making the Town Hall look nicer.

    Th11 could have a small archer tower or 2 on it.
