Should I upgrade my town hall after finishing my level 9 walls or my level 10 walls?

If you make an average of 5mil gold+elixir a day (an estimate amount of farming 2-3mil gold a day), it will take you approximately 158 days to finish the rest of legos and lavas. In 158 days you could also have maxed TH10 defence and higher level heroes (since DE is easier to get in TH10). Which do you prefer?

In my opinion the benefit of having maxed lavas instead of maxed legos is marginal. I'm only doing it because I'm a fairly active farmer and I can constantly upgrade at least one hero anyway. But if it will take you half a year and you don't enjoy farming walls that much, I don't think it's worth it to stay in TH9 for that long. It's not like it will take that much longer to finish them in TH10 (about 70%-80% as fast I heard).


EDIT: I excluded collector gains and other factors for simplicity, in reality you could probably finish faster than 158 days if you maintain the same rate everyday.

Problem is when I have over 30,000 dark elixir, people use lightning spells all the time on the storage. I was thinking of going to masters to farm with the loot bonus. I will see what my average gold and elixir is soon. My thought about doing walls is that you will never upgrade them if you don't max them. I was a rushed town hall 9 with level 6 walls. I recovered over the long course of 8 months. It takes 3 max level wall breakers to break through level 10 walls, so it will take at least 3 wall breakers to get into one of the layer of walls. I'm not sure I need my defense to prevent only 2 wall breakers to get through one layer. I've been a town hall 9 for 8 months now. I was a rushed town hall 9 with level 6 walls and recovered. My thought was that (After I recovered) I wouldn't get the level 10 walls done if I don't do them as a town hall 9 because 3 million gold is expensive, and the loot penalty has me see good resources only in town hall 9's and town hall 10's. I've seen many town hall 10's farm in crystal or masters, possibly champions. Since the update, I'm not sure if the town hall 10 resources are good, some town hall 10's in my clan say there aren't many resources left anymore.

I currently have max town hall 9 defense buildings, (Excluding the air sweeper) and want to know if I should upgrade my town hall to 10 after I am finished with my level 9 walls or my level 10 walls. I make an average of about 2-3 million gold each day. Responding will be appreciated.

I am TH 10 now with heroes @ BK19 & AQ17. I would say get heroes to 20 or so 1st as I have found that most players you face at TH10 are close to or already there. My walls are 8 and 9 but i currently farm DE/gold. so i upgrade sections as i can

If this is true, it would be impossible for people to finish zaps since they are only available at TH10. It's more like you will be farming 187.5 zaps instead of 250 if you are only aiming to finish lavas. While it still sounds a lot, and while it's probably true that you won't have resources for walls for a long time, it's not impossible. Just think about how much time you will have for walls after you maxed all TH10 defences and have nothing much to do. Yes farming will be harder, but by forcing yourself to stay in TH9 to work on walls when you are not a fast farmer, you are already making things harder for yourself.

Posters like Eternal625 and Morgauth have been sharing their experience about farming at TH10, and I could probably link you to other threads if you read Chinese. Farming at TH10 is different because you will be taking advantage of league bonus and you will get a decent amount as long as you win. As far as I can tell, it's not terrible.

But yes, check how much gold and elixir you can farm in a 2 hr boost session first and estimate how long it will take for you to finish lavas. I'm only doing it because I figured I will finish lavas before all my laboratory upgrades finish. The decision is ultimately up to what you want your base to look like in 4-5 months or so.

PS: With this hog/loon half priced event, I'm finding farming with barch+hogs in gold league very fast that I don't need to boost anymore. If farming at master doesn't work out for you, you could give it a try.

get em to lvl10. You don't want to worry about lavas at th10 so much to upgrade (including lvl11 walls). Youll be behind if you upgrade without your lavas

I plan to go to TH10 with lvl 9 walls. But I would strongly recommend that you upgrade your heroes to lvl 15 or 20. I suspect they will be needed when TH9 are the only weak bases available to steal from.

This is true, but it doesn't mean finishing lvl 10/11 walls at TH10 is impossible. If they don't finish lvl 10 walls at TH9, chances are they will finish lvl 10/11 walls slower than those who do or simply don't care about walls as much, which is understandable consider the return on investment is marginal.
