Clan Wars - Base Note System!

For clan wars, we should be able to add notes to war bases. This could be both to our clans and the enemy bases. This would make coordinating wars significantly easier which benefits many clashers.

    How it Works

This is one singular note per war base which any leader or co can edit. The enemy clan cannot see any notes your clan makes.

After a leader/co modifies a note it would say on the note who last edited it.

Say my clan enters into a war. With this idea we could add notes to the enemy bases and our own. This would serve a variety of purposes.

    Pros

Write in the note who has called dibs on said base.

No more needing other apps and sites to manage clan wars!

Problem with your clanmates war base? Not online for you to tell them? Set in the note so they'll see it and fix it when they get on.

Put in the note how that enemy base should be attacked to ensure no mistakes are made.

Cons - None at the moment

Feedback: If you have any feedback on pros, cons or anything else reply to the thread letting me know what they are.

Don't be a Boom Beach guy for CoC. You have the Clan Chat for that.

Clan chat moves to fast in our clan. Important details get scrolled off the screen long before the majority of members can read them all.

I like this idea. We often send clan mail with tips/ideas but that too is limited since the space is limited and you can only send a clan mail every so often. A little note area would be nice on the war bases.

    Thumbs Up

I would make use of this in my clan. Very useful tool IMO

I made a similar suggestion in the past, but it was more like a single page where all members could indicate their base preferences, and cos would have a spot to make assignments/suggestions. Yours is in some ways cleaner, I think, though it may be more useful if any player can add a note directly to it and only cos can edit/delete, and I also think it's missing something. Players aren't going to want to click 50 things to figure out what a leader wants them to do, so they need a better way to find the info relevant to them.

I believe SC has also indicated that they are looking into some sort of feature that would allow players to at least indicate which base they are prepping for/planning to attack.

The way I see it happening, there won't be a place for notes, but simply an option to "tag" an enemy base to let other players in the clan know they plan to attack that base. A colored circle or something with the # of your war base might then appear directly on the war map so other players in your clan will know you're preparing to attack that base. This way everyone can see at a glance who is preparing to attack what. If you click on the base, it may also say the name of the player who has tagged the base.

Having this in combination with a small space for notes from a coleader might be the ideal solution. That way, when leaders review who is planning to attack what, they can give their blessing, offer a brief suggested attack strategy, or tell the player the leaders want a different player to attack that base, and they should do a different base instead.

    Other considerations:

Would tagging a base prevent other players from attacking it? I would say no. Tagging a base would simply indicate your intentions, but other players would still be able to attack the base.

Would you only be able to tag one base at a time? This is probably the simplest solution, and once a player has made their first attack the tag is removed, and they can now tag a base for their second attack. The alternative would be the ability to tag 2 bases. In this case, perhaps different colors can be used to indicate whether a player is planning to attack that base for their first or second attack. I'd go for the one base at a time option though.

Can multiple players tag the same base? I would say yes, but a maximum of 2 players. This is probably an easier and more straightforward way for the second player to get the attention of the first player and/or the leaders than saying something in the chat and hoping someone sees it and responds.

Can leaders tag and untag bases for players? Similar to the opt in/out feature, I'd say yes. This would make it easier for leaders to hand out attacking assignments/suggestions.

...and on a related note, while SC is working on this, they should remove the recommended target entirely, or change it to a target range instead.

Dibs and advice can scroll of chat. Especially during war when chat gets very active.
