We need to make Vietnamese foods

I would like to see us be able to make Vietnamese foods - that is the freshest, crunchiest, healthiest, most flavorful cuisine We LOVE VIETNAMESE!!!

I'd like to make Nuoc mam (a lovely savory fish sauce) and Nuoc cham (same, with chile paste added) in the sauce maker, then we could make

Bun Cha Ha Noi -- a dish of rice vermicelli noodles (bun), served with a bowl of nuoc mam, and a plate of grilled pork, carrots, jicama, fresh basil, mint sprigs, bean sprouts, and grilled pork patty. You put the various ingredients in lettuce leaves to make lovely wraps.

    and --

Pho -- a lovely soup with rice noodles and thin slices of raw beef that cooks in the hot broth. YUMMMMM (MUCH better than Ramen, which is always too thick and greasy for our taste -- sorry)

Peachie and I had lunch yesterday at I Love Pho. She had the Bun Thit Nuong (vermicelli bowl with grilled pork):

and I had the spicy Mi Bo Kho -- Vietnamese beef stew noodle soup with carrots

    These are great!

I thought with the new pasta machine we could have a lasagna or a manicotti. But GASP the CHEESE!! So I guess thats out.

    I love the egg ideas.

How about popcorn balls? Or a Cracker Jack? Im not good with recipes. I just watch the shows and order out. LoL. The candy machine is really under used imho. Chocolate covered cherries? Oh speaking of cherries, why dont we have cherry pie? That would be a nice addition.

    Spaghetti Carbonara:
    Pasta
    Eggs
    Bacon
(no cream 'cos real Italian carbonara is NOT made with cream)

Cheese optional. Would love to throw an onion in whilst frying the bacon but, alas, we have none

I was laying in bed last night thinking about the cheese and crackers and ive decided we should turn that into a full cheese platter made on the salad bar or sandwich bar I suppose

1 cheese, 1 feta, wheat and olive oil (to make lavosh chips instead of crackers so we can charge more), apple, raspberry, blackberry, honey and a coffee bean (to drizzle over the cheese, it may sound crazy but its something jamie oliver does with a mature cheddar cheese some honey and coffee grounds, the flavour is amazing) and the tomato chutney we will be making as well and the bacon we're turning into prosciutto

But im not going to be the person to tell all the farmers the list of ingredients... someone else with a death wish can do that

    Let's make a SPAM MUSUBI :)

Our Hawaiian friends talk about spam musubis -- which we discovered on TV, watching native Islanders wax poetic about spam wrapped in rice and seaweed from gas stations.

    HMMM

We have a Hawaiian restaurant in Dallas, and went there for a spam musubi. It was ok - but after one bite my daughters looked at me and said, "you could make them SO MUCH better."

    And I do

    My not-so-secrets:

    (1) Use seasoned sushi rice (sticky rice with sushi vinegar added) instead of plain sticky rice,

    (2) Use a FLAVORED spam instead of a plain spam -- like Teriyaki spam or Bacon Spam (girls fave)

    (3) FRY the spam so it is crispy (not mushy)

    (4) Sprinkle the rice inside the musubi liberally with Furikake rice seasoning (I like the wasabi flavor, girls like bonito or egg flavor)

(4.5) A small smear of wasabi is optional

    (5) Use the flavored high-quality nori (meant for snacking) instead of the plain nori used fpr sushi rolls

YUMMMMMMMMM Now that's the kind of spam sandwich I'll eat! In fact -- may make them for dinner YUMMMMM

    See here: http://whatscookingamerica.net/History/Spam.htm

If you dont have a musubi maker (widely available at Asian or Japanese markets) you can cut the bottom of a spam can out and use it EASY PEASY

    http://nary.tumblr.com/post/25380141...-mold-so-i-was

I would LOVE to make spam musubis in Hay Day -- except borrow from Vietnamese or Thai culture and use lettuce to wrap the musubis instead of seaweed. In fact, I already started a thread in the Ideas section about them

What, you mean you don't make sandwiches with a roll of bread on each side?

I think the folks in the game love their carbohydrates. I've seen them put away 3 pies in the diner.

I mentioned this in another post but what part of the hot dog maker shapes 6 soybeans into the tofu dog? Then how does bacon turn into the hot dog shape? I'd like to get a closer look at what's going on in that machine but I can't zoom in enough to inspect it all.

Where do the chocolate chips come from when we make cookies? I wish that was real. You know how many times I want chocolate chip cookies only to have no chocolate chips?!
