Why are Heroes not like other troops during upgrade?

It's a simple question of which I'm not sure the answer...

When you are upgrading a Hero, why can you simply not use it at its non-upgraded level during Clan Wars? If I was upgrading a dragon it would not prevent me from TRAINING dragons to attack with, I simply train lower level dragons (non-upgraded).

When defences are upgrading they are simply available at the non-upgraded level during Clan Wars.

What is the motivation for taking Heroes 'offline' during upgrade?

When you upgrade your spell factory can you use your spells?
When you update a barrack can you still use it for train troops?

The king and queen on OFFENSE are only available when not upgrading. It's true in multi-player and in war. And all the other OFFENSE buildings react the same.

The other troops are upgraded in the lab and not as a building like the king, queen, spell factory and barracks. Let's stop comparing the heroes with the cannons. Do you bring your mortar to the fight with your troops?

For me the only thing that does not follow that line is the clan castle which you can still use while under upgrade.

This debate is like beating a dead horse...but assuming you're new on the forums....basically heroes are down just like the spell factory can't make spells while upgarading and barracks cant cook troops while upgrading et c.

You may not like this answer but here we go:

Heroes are not like other troops because SC decided it like that. It's as simple as that. Really anything in the game just comes down to what SuperCell decides. Using Heroes is one of the most highly requested updates to the game at the moment and hopefully they will let us use them for wars soon.

SC makes a lot of $$ from people gemming their heroes. Nothing wrong with that though. I keeps the game free to download and play for probably the vast majority of us.

No I am not new, I was just wondering HOW they are classified, acting like a building, troop and defense all at the same time.
