Since i actualy have some skin in this glitch, i'll offer my unsolicited opinion.
in the end this comes down to who's concerns weigh the heaviest.
So far i've seen alot of "this affects me good/bad" and all are valid concerns.
who has the least to lose though? Th9+ lose a relatively reliable source of income with this glitch in place, true.
It seems to me that they refuse to consider the other point of view though. Tail end th7-8 lose about 40% of their income in escrow under the normal regime.
If they want to get their walls done before upgrading to 9, they need to muster up a daunting 112,5 mill gold in walls all while having no use for elixir beyond consumables.
Averaging an ideal median of 250k per raid, thats still about a intimidating 400 raids their staring in the face if they hope to advance. Time that could be cut substantialy if they were able to utilize their elixir.
half their income is kept in escrow so the whales can have krill to feed on.
supercell already said they are fixing the glitch "soon", the oligarcy will return to its exploiting of the proletariat soon enough.
i still think that unless the prices of walls are lowered to a more manageable level, that the plight of us only trying to get by, should weigh heavier then the complaints of those who get to have a marginaly less extravagant exploitation.

are you a game programer? I'm not but yet I know enough about computers to know that when you change something about a program other things can be weirdly changed.
This is just one of those things that wasn't forseen being changed in the lines of code as they updates they were doing should not have changed those codes. But as my father would say, "vicisitudes accure."
Luckily I noticed this bug and dumped all my elixir storage into walls. At the moment this bug appears to be the best update released!!
You must not be familiar with programming/coding. While I am not an expert by any means, I am a business systems analyst and work closely with our developers. It's not uncommon for an older version of code to be updated rather than the most recent. My guess, their developers used the code that had the elixir upgrade as a trunk (or base) code for their developing. They added "branches" for testing purposes and as they passed they added to the trunk. Their QA team didn't test wall upgrades because the code shouldn't have changed.
