    Red face Darkness Spell

Haven't posted in a while here.

This spell will blind the defense(s) (cannon, archer tower, wizard tower, etc.) that is/are in the radius. The radius is the same as the healing spell.

You might be thinking "We have this already. It's called a freeze spell"

The difference is that, while under the effect of a darkness spell, the defense can still shoot, just with lowered accuracy and, it can hit buildings on the base which will lower that building's hitpoints.

Let's take this scene for example:

A barbarian is running to destroy a building. A darkness spell is dropped on an archer tower. The archer tower shoots (sometimes the arrows will miss and hit the ground, they'll dissappear.)

Suddenly (while under the effect of a darkness spell, it shoots a wall . The wall's Hp will be decreased.

The troops can also be hit by the arrows too.

This applies to all the defenses except traps because that doesn't make any sense.

And for air defenses, they won't hit any building while under this effect.

Also use this to blind CC troops

What makes this unit/spell unique compared to the other units/spells in the game: It blinds the defense while still giving it a chance to shoot but a missed shot can also hit buildings and maybe even destroy weak ones.

    - What kind of strategies this new unit would enable (concrete examples are best): Drop this spell and give your troops more time to destroy something or use it to your advantage and let the blinded defense destroy something.

    - What kind of army composition includes this unit or, how it could combine with other units for more advanced strategies: Barch with this spell, etc.

    - How someone could redo their base to protect against attacks from this unit: Keep your defenses spread out. This disable the attacker from blinding multiple defenses at once.

EDIT:No more limited accuracy for the blinded defenses.

The darkness spell will make the affected defense shoot the nearest thing and also lower its range (thanks queenalex!) so the troops can only be hit when close.

It will also have a cool black darkness animation.

I like this idea! SC could also implement a counterpart, the Illuminating Spell (or something similar for the name) that reveals traps within an area.

    Thanks for the support!

    Any flaws in the idea?

I kind of agree with Anthony. But then if you take away the less accuracy, it just ends up like a freeze spell. Maybe it could cause two defenses that are both within the range of the spell to fire at eachother? Like two archer towers fire at eachother, two air defenses at eachother, the cc troops go attack a mortar, etc. I dunno, just a thought.

I think this would work if there was actually an accuracy stat on defense buildings.

    Thanks everyone for commenting!

I see the idea of less accuracy won't fit in...

What if, it will shoot the nearest object on the base when blinded?

Let's say an AT get's blinded and the nearest thing is a wall. The AT will shoot at the wall for the duration of the spell time.

Doesn't the freeze spell only freeze the defenses in range?

The darkness spell doesn't do that.

    Illuminati confirmed.

    Good idea nevertheless.

Hey, I have an idea! The Darkness Spell could lower the range of defenses (not freezing them completely) making your troops only be detected when they're close, as if they're shrouded in darkness and have a limited range of vision, not limited accuracy. The Illuminating Spell could still be its counterpart, and either reveal one or two random traps (or three if you get lucky, maybe even more) or reveal all the troops in a small range around where it's placed.
