Rushing th8!

I didn't read all the posts but I went to TH9 with a completely maxed base except BK LV8 and I didn't touch any dark troop in lab. I don't know if I would have maxed TH8 (especially walls) pre update, I farmed those skulls with elixir and gold, took me around 2-3 weeks.

I'm a TH10 now, came from a maxed TH10 (except valkyries in lab, 15/15 heroes) with full legos and many told me to max everything, but I moved to TH10 and I dont regret my decision.

I'd say upgrade whenever you feel comfortable with it.

My defenses are mostly max TH6 cannons and TH7 archer towers and even when I have +60K DE I receive a snipe 9 out of 10 in crystal 3 league.

My lego Lava walls are scary and many TH7 and TH6 just pushing to 2000 cups for gems!!!

My non-max TH8 with only a few skull walls gets sniped 9 out 10 in crystal 2 league. And they are TH9 and TH10 attackers (ie. queen used). Then again, I only offer 1800 DE to TH9s and 1000 DE to TH10s due to caps+loot pentalties.
