As per my experience as a gamer in coc, for my opinion only upgrade first resources, army and defense as high as your current TH will allow then you do the TH upgrade.

If you want to rush, then max barracks, cc , dark barracks and farming troops, then max walls. Only way to smart rush.

TH8 imo is one of the most important townhalls because you have so much elixir to practice various troop combos with that you shouldn't rush TH8 and get the full benefits out of this townhall.
At TH8 the only war strategies you can use are dragons, gowipe, hogs, and maybe valks. Dragons are useless at TH9 and gowipe rarely gets 3 stars. At TH9 you unlock the possibility to use way more strategies because of the lava hound.
I would not advise you to rush TH7 to TH9. People who do this are making a big mistake in the long run because 1) you get a loot penalty at TH9 that is harsher than TH8. TH8 loot penalty is hardly noticeable because you can still get the most loot out of TH7 and your own TH level. TH9 loot penalty will suck and it will take a while for you to recover from your rush since you are basically a TH7. You will get destroyed every time you log off and will lose a whole lot of loot. 2) Your offensive capability is basically level 2 dragons. Plus you won't get into good clans because duh...no one likes a rusher in war. You won't even be able to attack your own townhall. Most clans expect TH9 to attack their own townhall. You won't even be able to attack a TH8 with those level 2 dragons.
1) If you farm at gold 2/1 as a TH8 you won't notice a loot penalty and you can farm more of all resources at TH9.I just finished my Th9 yesterday and the only attack I got was a TH snipe because I dumped all my resource on walls before I logged off. At Th8 you can't do that with elixir as there is no elixir dump.
2)Level 2 dragons won't be needed because with lavaloonion you can 3 star any TH8 or TH9.
Just think about what you're doing first. This will be a big mistake if you do this. I personally am enjoying townhall 8 because my elixir storages are full 90% of the time. I don't get attacked much and even if I do, I can easily get the lost loot back by just raiding once since my townhall has a very small loot penalty.


In conclusion. Don't do this. I myself half rushed TH7(my walls and troops were ♥♥♥♥ when I rushed to TH8) and still haven't been able to recover fully from the rush but I am still at it. If I only rushed townhall 7, you sir are rushing a whole townhall. It will be very tough for you.

2) We can dump all our resources on walls before logging off.

GoWiPe variations (with hogs or loons) can get 3 stars. There's also GoWiz which is good for specific bases.

I'm going to be doing the same thing. ill be th8 in 4 days, I've pretty much maxed th7 apart from cannons and traps which will be done by the th upgrade. the only research I wont have done by th8 is healer lvl 2, goblins lvl 4, heal lvl 4 and rage lvl 3/4


When i get to th8 these are the upgrades ill focus on

Elixer upgrades - lab, dark elixer storage to lvl 4, 2nd dark elixer drill to lvl 3, 1 dark barracks to lvl 4, 2nd dark barracks to lvl 1 or 2.

Research - barbarians, archers, balloons, giants then hogs if any time left ill finish maxing spells.

gold upgrades/defenses - new mortar to lvl 5, max wizard towers, new air defense to lvl 5. New tesla lvl 1. place new traps. Any new cannons and archer towers will be upgraded to th7 max if I have time during th upgrade.

ill try and upgrade walls and king as much as possible as well.

I'll be at th8 for at least a month but the extra time will be worth it as when I get to th9 ill be in a good position to get lava loonian asap so I can help my clan in war.

I maxed th8, and 5 weeks into 9, im smashing it. Th8 set me up real good, not just with a great base, but with attack knowledge. Because i th8, i am now 3-staring maxed th9s straight off the bat. Think about that, maxing puts you so much further ahead

True! but not all resources. I just care about DE and DE and DE!!!

My defenses are mostly max TH6 cannons and TH7 archer towers and even when I have +60K DE I receive a snipe 9 out of 10 in crystal 3 league.

My lego Lava walls are scary and many TH7 and TH6 just pushing to 2000 cups for gems!!!

so I calculate in average I lose 2,500 DE per week But only my lvl6 drills can produce 4,800 per day.
rush to TH9 if you are active = +150 skull walls + BK10 + offense max.
