Advice please- Setting up new NH and active members moving to it “on mass ?

I hope its Ok to post this here rather than on the NH pages because I really need some advice, but also thought any thoughts offered might also help others who are caught in a similar situation.

The NH I currently belong tp has 30 members, of whom only 7 or 8 are still active (for the last 6 months or so). The NH leader has not played for ages, and the leadership has been passed to another player who is so rarely on that I suspect they don't even know they ARE the leader.

As you can imagine, because we are matched against other NHs with 30 members, despite the best efforts of those that do play, this makes getting anywhere in the Derby virtually impossible, and although we one 2 horseshoes in the first Derby we are now struggling, and really don't want to miss out annoy “special “ rewards. mentioned in the latest update.

There are some nice people playing, so I didn’t want to just “jump ship” ( and having read some of the posts on this forum, I was petrified I might end up in an NH with a leader who would whip me for not playing 24/7! I am currently a very active player, but nothing would put me off quicker!)

So… I’ve messaged to the other members about the possibility of setting up a new NH , for those of us who do play and moving to it so that we stand more of a fighting chance, and so far, all seem keen.

I want to do this right though , so that I don’t “leave behind” players that want to move over, and might currently be away for a week or so. I don't do Facebook, so have no way of messaging the other NH members once I leave to set up the new NH. My plan is to choose a name (which no-one else has), post it on the NH message board and go. My understanding is, that as I don't do face book, I cant “invite” (but I may have got that wrong,) but am hoping that the other members who want to follow can “request to join” once they’ve searched for the NH through the board in the NH house.

Has anyone else done this and succeeded (or failed!)? Do any of you have any words of wisdom, tips or advice so that I don’t get it wrong, please. As I am one of the higher level players in the NH I would hate the others not to be able to find the new NH, or think that I had just abandoned them.(Of course they might just choose not to, and I’ll be sat all alone in my new NH!!!)

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi kwixi, Myself and my friend did this exact thing with our neighborhood but for a little different reason. Heres what we did.
We didn't have any way to message any of our members at all. So when we left, we did it during the busiest time in the room. We told everyone what we were doing. ( in our case we were leaving because of differances with the leader and we were co leaders) We told everyone the name of the new group. ( you won't beable to open the neighborhood until you leave but you can come up with name, of course.)
I left first. I opened the new neighborhood and texted my friend to come over. Then she left. Within 2 hrs all of the active members and members we would have thought never would have followed came over.
We started 2 mo ago and we have a gold winning derby group of 18 strong. I think its wonderful you care so much about youre fellow members. Go for it!

If you have neighbors that you cannot message outside the game, you are not GC/FB friends, and you think are on vacation for a while, then you could follow their farms before leaving. At least that way you'll be in their followers tab, which gives them a way to find you when they return, and maybe they will request to join.

And if they can't find you? Well, that's why you should never take a vacation from HayDay!

I think you have it covered.

If you can, decide on a name before you depart so you can post it in chat prior to leaving. If not, have one of your members post it before they leave to join the new NH. They'll be able to see the name by tapping on your NH building.

If anyone in the 1st NH isn't connected to your farm, they'll be able to visit your farm via the message displaying you left the NH. That message will remain until it's pushed out by chatty neighbors.

What they said, plus one more suggestion. Try to get your members to join this forum. Supercell lets us start a NH group here on the forum and it is the best way to communicate with other members without resorting to KIK or emails. This group is not exactly private so others can see what you post but they have to know about it and bother to look for it. They can't join without an invitation. Plus if they are forum members you can always send them PMs. I have it set up so that when I get a PM, I also get an email about it.
