Why people put teslas near the outside TH?

There is no "good" reason to do this outside of "it's fun to watch the replay".

A TH 10 in my clan posted a raid he did where he got 450k G/500k E and 3.5k dark on another TH 10. He put a few barbs down by the TH and up popped 4 max teslas. He then went in from a different side and leveled all the storages. Ended up with a 1 start but 95% of the available loot.

The funny part is that at the start of the replay you could see some grave stones near the TH. This most likely meant that some lowbie "tried" to give him a free shield and failed. I bet he wished he had that shield after he got stomped.

Possibly, but my townhall is outside, so I have a shield almost always when I'm not raiding.

Came across a high level TH trapper earlier... I zapped his DE, killed all his cc troops, and detonated all his giant bombs (fool had them on the outside), all without leaving a shield. I visited him an hour later and he was completely destroyed. Bet he wishes he hadn't trapped that TH.

There are a few advantages.

One disadvantage that you may want to consider: Some people may actually get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off at the sight of the teslas and may decide to go either for your storages or for total destruction whereas otherwise they may have been satisfied with a cheap TH snipe. Just keep that in mind, bro

I always put the th next to my base and put telsas near it and archer towers within range. Not enough to stop a snipe, but enough to kill troops as they kill my th.

Never have telsas trigger untill tger destroy a few building and get to the th.

It works wonderfully. Attackers can snipe with a single queen or ~ 50ish archers.

I disagree, if I am going to snipe a th I have a sniping army. If I am going to wipe a base I ignore the th entirely. Trapping a th has 0 effect on my attacks.

I am an unashamed TH trapper but i do not do it to troll other players or for funny replays, and i certainly do not share replays of players failing on my base with my clan so we can all laugh at the unfortunate player.

So why do i do it?

The reason is simple it is one of the most effective ways to prevent a full out attack on my base! For years i like many other players on the forums left my TH completely unguarded believing it was the best way to protect my resources; however for the last 5-6 months i became increasingly concerned that probably about half the snipes on my TH then progressed into full blown raids on my village with significant amounts of loot taken. Initially trapping my TH was only intended to be a short experiment to see if this would improve this although i must admit i was concerned that players would be provoked and go for more of my loot. Must admit i was very surprised at the success of this strategy as the vast majority of players who attacked me simply pumped in troops until the TH fell and then quit these are players with troop compositions similar to players that in the past would have gone on to attack me!

I have been trapping my TH for the last 3-4 months now and i can't deny sometimes i do come across a player who does exactly what some players here would do to me they drop 1-2 test troops, when they realise my TH is trapped they proceed to go for my core instead. This doesn't really worry me though as raids like this are extremely rare and i can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of players who have done this to me in the last 3-4 months. Also zapping my DE isn't something that particularly works me up as this tends to be a relatively small loss compared to the amount i was losing previously when players went for my untrapped TH and then proceeded to core me anyway!

this is such a ridiculous attempt to prank someone. Hate when I encounter this. Stop being a d-bag and just pick a setup. If your going to farm don't trap your TH, there is no point other than to try to screw up some guy that is trying to push or just get the loot bonus. If you want to gain trophies, I don't see how this tactic will work. If someone is trying to push for trophies and snipe your TH they are not going to just give up when the teslas pop up, otherwise they would be losing 20+ trophies. And also when you have all the giant bombs and ♥♥♥♥ around there, then you have to spend money reseting traps. Why don't you just put your TH in the middle if you want to gain some trophies. Stop being a child.
Whenever I get screwed by one of these morons, I always punish them by going for their loot, when all i really wanted was to get the TH for the loot bonus. Are you happy now?! Thanks for the 300k gold and elixir and 3k dark.

So has it ever happened where you've defended because someone real low tried to snipe you? If so, was that ever followed up by a full blown attack?

I think people miss the point of exposing their TH. If someone has the troops to take your resources they will (regardless of TH inside or out). The point of the exposed TH is to give this opportunity to players who come in without the army (think lower level THs) to take your resources.
