I helped start a clan back in June 2014 and we're still going strong. We are fairly selective and for that reason we haven't been at 50 people but for maybe 1% of the time we have been running. Recruiting is pretty central to our success because the sifting causes turn over.
With the development of clan wars and the xp system there are many different types of clans, and therefore many different preferences among players. Do you want war 24/7 or do you prefer a break? Do you want a clan that pushes? No war? So on and so on.
I can't be alone in becoming jaded with recruiting. Global is the hip-shot approach to recruiting, high volume, low quality. The forums have more quality but lower volume, and getting a look from desirable candidates is anything but easy. You can go the Youtube route (which we have) but who has the time to produce movies regularly? We visit opponents after war and win over some folks that way.
I'm hoping more people feel like I do, I think it's time for an in-game match maker. I think a system that allows people to classify their wants in a clan and conversely a way for a clan to classify what it wants in a player would be great. I realize the clan search has been improved, but what about a filter against requests? All I get is a trophy level, which my clan couldn't care less about. I would love if I could filter requests automatically based on a set of characteristics determined in advance. I would want to be able to narrow searches down based on:
Push frequency
War frequency
Donation ratios/No ratios
Gold grab
Nice n Tidy
War Stars
Troop/spell levels
And if you really want to blow my mind, allow for clans to require certain profile formulas, such as GG divided by Nice n Tidy or War Loot divided by War Stars, whatever mix desired.
In general, what I'm noticing is that the options for types of clans has increased. With that increase the complexity of recruiting has increased, and the job of recruiting has been made rather cumbersome. I'd prefer to spend time winning wars instead of spamming a poster in the forums. Any agree with me here? Additional ideas? Criticisms?
