ability to search for TH level when looking for a battle

Hi all,
YES, I am new so be kind! only playing a few days.
I just thought that having the ability to search for a battle with an opponent who is a similar level to you (AND still having the ability to skip past for a cost) would speed up the battle search a bit without having to be offered battles that are too below your level.
I don't understand about trophy league and how that works as someone mentioned earlier (please inform me).
I am on TH4 and about to get 400 trophies (about 360 currently).

If this was implemented those who where saving for big upgrades get raided all the time and those who want loot would just target Th 10s with loads of loot

there are probably people who can explain this better than me, but here goes...

people will climb down the league intentionally to hide from high level town halls so that they can collect their resources in peace.
the easiest way to drop trophies is to toss one barb into an attack then quit

how your suggestion could(and would) be abused.
if a th9 could select only th7 to attack he would be able to raid resources very easily instead of having to drop to a lower league and wade through lots of poor targets to find the one he wants.

honestly not sure how clear I've been or how much I might have helped.

Yes that makes sense and I understand what you are saying.
I believe there is a penalty for attacking lower TH villages. You only get 90% of the available loot for attacking one TH level below you BUT you get a 50% reduction in loot for attacking 2 TH levels below and then something like you get a 95% reduction for 3 or more levels below (I think). If that is so is it still worth a TH9 attacking a TH7 even if they have 100,000 of Gold/elixir if they lose 50%?

and yes it is worth it
I'm th6 and frequently find th4 with worthwhile loot and also easy to three star for trophies to stay in my league (the right league is important for farming)

if this were possible, as a fairly maxed TH10, I would search only for TH9's with massive amounts of loot available. It would be a terrible addition to the game. Even if I were to search for TH8s, while there is a 50% penalty, it is still very worth while to attack a TH8 whos collectors are completely full because 1/2 of 400K is still 200, and I could destroy an entire TH8 with archers and heros.

I give you a pass on this suggestion because you are new, and welcome, but it is not great. In general, you will find harder THs as you go higher in trophies, and lower as you drop.

Okay yeah; I figure you were new based on your thread. I defenitly suggest checking out clash wiki, and using Google for good trophy rages for your towmhall. If they're all too low you need to go up trophys to get better ones. And the idea of using 1 attacker is where a player drops a troop and doesn't actually want to win. This is done so players can stay low and avoid hard opponents and pick on the weak.

It all depends to be honest. People attack for trophys, some attack for loot. But players generally don't go 2 below their townhall unless they need trophys.

As a townhall 8; I certainly suggest using Google and learning from it. It's really a. Good game if you know how to play.

Ok guys thanks for the feedback.
I understand now the use of trophies in helping to adjust the level of difficulty you battle with.
More reading of the Wiki etc required I think.
