    Of course you would, because you can get 5 free gems from one cleared obstacle.

    Personally, I don't buy the whole "it's difficult to program"

    While I agree that it probably is, that's not the true reason. Supercell didn't make almost 600 million in profit last year as a fluke. People are paying for their heroes and until there is no revenue reasons to maintain the current system, it's unlikely to change.

    It's like most of you completely forgot that this free game needs ways to make money.

    I think it is a decent compromise, but it should be no less than 100 gems per attack, per war. Without searching the time to gem ratio, I think that's decently fair.

    It needs to be no more than 30% less it would costs to gem your hero completely from the start. Any less than that and you risk significant reduction in revenue. So you can spend 100% of the gem costs to finish your heroes completely for war, or you can spend 70% of that costs through micro-hero usage.....
