Thread: You can't make loot unless you are constantly logged in. Please fix this.

    While I can agree with you that some adjustments to the economy are sorely needed I think you are looking at this entirely wrong. You need to remember what the point of CoC is. The ONLY point to this game is to take what other's have. The game is designed for to attack, attack, attack and take, take, take. Sure you can play it different by sitting and waiting for your collectors to fund your upgrades but that is not what this game was designed for and SC will never cater to those players. That is what Hay Day is for. It is designed for that style of play. Any ideas that make it more difficult to find worthwhile villages to attack is a bad idea at face value. We already next too much.

    With that in mind I agree that loosing 4 hours of farming effort in the first 20 minutes you log off is also broken game play. Currently the only ways to prevent it are to either stay online perpetually (not an option for you, me or most others) or put your TH outside to be sniped. Your assertion that this does not work is completely incorrect, proven by the multiple millions of people who do it successfully every day. While it is counter intuitive and seems like poor game design it does very adequately solve the problem of being raided multiple times the moment you log off and it does so very effectively if you use it properly.

    So any ideas you come up with for modifying the loot system must work within those two basic concepts that form the foundation of CoC (1- effective attacking must be possible and encouraged, 2- loosing an entire play session's progress within minutes of logging off can't happen). Simply adding gameplay features to make it more like Hay Day doesn't do that. A bump in collector production may be part of it but this is the wrong game to make "sit and wait for my loot" an effective tactic. Fortunately there are a lot of ideas that folks have discussed on these forums in great detail and it should be fairly easy for you to find them for some light reading. WarrenJames started the most recent comprehensive threads about changing the loot system and defense structure. Like any others they are full of posts providing very little insight so you have to skim through to find the nuggets of genuinely thought out information.

    Going a little farther back you will find hundreds of threads trying to work this out. Huge volumes of reading about the potential impacts on game play and loot availability for many minor and drastic ideas. I encourage you to contribute ideas towards improving the economy but before you post ask yourself those two questions. Will it make more villages worth attacking? Will it cause catastrophic loss when we log out?

    I login a few times a day to attack. I just finished maxing all defenses as a TH9 and have 40 lego walls left to do.

    I've no problems gathering and preserving my loot....

    After corrections, the title should be:

    "I CAN"T MAKE LOOT UNLESS I AM CONSTANTLY LOGGED IN."

    I will make a wild guess, you aren't the highest level Clash of Clans player in the world, you aren't the highest level Clash of Clans player in your clan. You should ask people how they got to higher levels than you, it is quite possible to make loot, millions of people do it every day. The question shouldn't be, what can SC change to make it easier for me, it should be what can I change about how I play to get and save more loot.

    This is a problem with how defence is handled in-game and felt by players. Defending sucks, simply put. Unfortunately there is no simple answer to this. But if a fix were made, you wouldn't need to be logged on constantly to prevent being raided, nor feel like it is a game requirment to metagame and have your Town Hall outside to take advantage of trophy pusher's greed.

    i have between 5 and 8 million gold, now on occasion i get the odd attempt on my gold, i never lose more than 100k tho on average, but that is because my defences are strong enough to make most people weary of attacking me, maybe ive been raided for 300k once or twice this month, but i can just barch that back with a loot bonus or three.

    i find that people are more brazen if you are rushed, if you are th 10 with level 5 wizard towers i can guarantee that you will get attacked, if you have level 6 walls = attacked, it's survival of the fittest, and you need to prepare for that, drop trophys down to bronze if you have to but get out of the range of the ones who can beat you, cos at that much loot yu are going to get attacked regardless, because thats how the game works. sorry my friend you can gem shields you can leave th outside but you are going to lose that loot eventually

    spend it first, get all your small upgrades out of the way, walls , traps bombs, then work on the cheaper defences cannons, archer towers ect, work your way up and you will get stronger, and the stronger you get the less you will be attacked.

    Im not sure if you are listening paddyflynn, but I have been sitting at 6 million elixir for the past few weeks, I am at 1200 trophies, where I can find a few bases or two that has good loot. It is were all of the dead bases are. Drop down low, and live off of clan wars loot, collectors, and a few good raids once in a while.

    All you have to do is farm and break your shield right before you sleep in the night so that way when people attack you they only go for the town hall and not your collectors cause they'll be empty. I'm TH 9 with 7mil gold right now and 4mil elixir and everyone still snipes me. My walls are only level 7 so there's nothing that scares people away from my base.

    Th9, I only have cannons and ad's left out of defenses to upgrade. Farming at th9 is verrrry easy. I'm just concerned about th10 because 95% of my raids are against th8's.
    But as long as I'm th9, Easysauce.

    Revenge doesn't break shield.
    More single player missions.
    Just start having things like hot dogs or sandwiches for supper. Those can be eaten with one hand leaving your other free for swiping. And tell the kids to do their own darn homework. it builds their character (so they grow up to get high paying jobs and can afford lots of gens) and frees your hands up to keep swiping.
