SC needs to not allow Rooted or Jailbroken devices to play the game. Many mobile games detect rooted/jailbroken devices as C H E A T I N G and dont allow you to get past the games load up screen and i think SC needs to do the same. Go ahead and bash me saying "that sounds ridiculous" but its gonna be the only solution to all you people complaining about exploiters.

The issue really is not widespread enough to ban millions of people who just happen to have rooted their device. I used to use a jailbroken iPad 1 - I did nothing wrong.

Maybe some people didn't root/jailbreak their device for ♥♥♥♥♥ing, it would be unfair to them. Maybe they can't unroot their phone and they won't be able to play Clash of Clans anymore. They need to find a way to detect the ♥♥♥♥♥s and punish the players using them.

Every update they break the tools - a few days later they figure it out and they are back, $10 a month per ch34ting player focuses the bad guy's minds somewhat

This is the sad truth about ch34ts. As soon as one door is closed they open another. It reminds me of real world fraudsters, same thing happens there. It isn't limited to Clash, it happens with every game, and always will. Imagining a Clash life without ch34ts is like trying to picture a world without criminals. Never going to happen. That said, what the honest player can hope for is a development team that never gives up trying and continues to close doors. Developers should look at how player numbers drop when they don't, look at CoD as a perfect example. I played CoD for over five years, but eventually gave up hope.

Until they fix the ch34t, some people will still try to use it. If it can be detected, then a part of the ch34ters will be banned, and there will be less and less ♥♥♥♥♥ers every update, if there's no way to completely fix it.

While "Scouting", click "Attack", then have some confirmation step. At that point, the client-server could communicate and transmit all the "secret" information to the client (CC, traps, Teslas). Also, at that point, the attack is considered to have happened. If the player disconnects then the attack proceeds as normal in a disconnect: all units currently on the field do their thing until they die and the time runs out. You could keep the 30 second countdown. The only difference is that once you get to the screen where the 30 second countdown is going, you cannot back out.

    2) Spying - This one is even easier. Just make it so people not in the wars can only "Scout" a base. In other words, anyone not in a war can only view the base in the same manner as someone on the other team. That prevents people from joining after the war has started and seeing your traps, Teslas, and CC.
Very easy to implement this (and I am a software developer/architect/manager) as you say, and there is not reasonable way to break it. This will take care of all sandboxing issues.

I do care about the farming part of the game too, and it's harder, but certainly possible to solve that problem as well in such a way that there will not be a possible work-around.

I'd like to ask: has anyone here every seen WITH YOUR OWN EYES a sack / heat / whatever for CoC? Not "oh my cousins friend heard of a guy who knew a guy who was able to get infinite gems". Not "he dropped his archer right on my giant bomb, he must be using something!".

I'll bet that SC is correct in their line that because it's a server based game, sacking is not possible.

There are ways to hide jailbreak status from an app, besides, whenever tools like sandbox mode and loot search are patched, modders just come out with a new tool anyway. There's even a tool for seeing traps as somebody mentioned before. Supercell can and does prevent things like infinite gems/troops/resources, but the client side will always be breakable.
    Quit.

Both of these seem simple enough to fix all the interactive problems with the game.

The issue of bots auto-farming is a different story. But, to be honest, I could care less about that part because it doesn't affect me. Why do I care if there are max people out there that have used a program to loot? ♥♥♥♥♥ing in Clan Wars directly affects me.

I can't recall how many times players have asked for this simple solution and every time it's ignored - people were asking for this just days after cwars was released. It is so frustrating that they don't do this. I'd gladly sacrifice a few lost war raids due to disconnection if that means we actually stand a chance winning wars since it seems most of the warmongers are not 'fair play'. Almost two years these 3rd party apps have been around and what has changed? Just more people using them - absolutely no progress in battling them that I'm aware of.
