    Help With Dragon Attacks for War (TH8)

    These three will be my most likely targets, although two of them look identical. I need to perfect my attacks because they are hit or miss, and my clan relies on me. Dragons are level 3, spells all level 4.

    If you want to go with dragon army then as a TH8 you should be taking 9 dragons ALWAYS + a mix of minions and archers to make it a total 200. Thats your army camps. Now for clan castle you need to consider the base design. Only two kinds of troops you should be taking>>>> 5 max balloons/1 Dragon+1 max balloon. Thats your castle. Now spells....never ever think about spells and simply take all 3 rage spells (should be at least level 3). Your focus should be to make sure your dragons dont go along the sides, around the air defence. Taking out air defence should be top priority




    A is for archers, M is for minions. Black line is where you can drop your dragons. First pick on trash, that will make sure your dragons have got no where to fly but inside the base. Use rage as needed.



    In this base, you cant pick on trash with ease so just clear the area around dragon dropping zone and then drop them once there is no building nearby thats outside the walls. You can use one dragon to keep archer tower busy while clearing the zone before mass dragon dump but be quick with it. Use BK as well to make sure nothing remains outside in close range.


    Practice will make you perfect. Although i suggest you start learning GoWipe because once you are th9, dragons in war is pretty much useless. And practically you will be forced to use ground armies as a new th9 and the army remains the same except for 25 extra troops in camps and castle combined. But yes, with dragons, you can guarantee 3 stars on any TH7 and 99% TH8(sometimes its bad luck plus a great design).

    Base 11 is AD666--ugh. But you have a decent shot at it...

    Two possibilities, both 3-light (the AD at 5:00 is the one I'd blow)

    But I'd probably just funnel the drags to come in from 11;00, straight into that AD. I'd then snipe, however you want to, the AD at 8:00, loons/hogs/whatever. Maybe use my B King to help distract the ATs near that AD as well. I'd throw a healthy amount at it to, like no less then 9 loons/hogs.

    Base 12 looks like a potential JTJU Dragon Snipe attack, as two ADs look like they are 2 hops from the edge.

    Base 13...I won't comment too much, as AD444 against L3 drags...huge edge for drags...

    Lol, I have that dragon thread bookmarked, so I will review the JTJU and see how it applies.
    Yeah, AD444 should be a walk, but I frequently get surprised at how slam-dunks turn into holy-what!?

    So for base 11, you'd blow the one at 5:00, snipe the one at 8:00, and then hope the dragons can take care of the rest of the base on their own?

    *Edit- I reviewed the dragon snipe attack, and it uses level 4 hogs, which I don't have.

    Can someone please tell me whether or not base 12 and 13 can be sniped with balloons instead of hogs?? I don't know what kind of troop composition to bring!

    I wouldn't worry about base 13. L3 drags have such an enormous edge against AD4, it's not even funny. By itself, it takes a single AD4 15 shots (aka, 15 seconds) to kill a single L3 drag. That's just too huge an advantage.

    I wouldn't really worry about sniping on base 13. I'd just light 3:00 and attack broadside from 10:00. I'd either go 11 drags or 105. And his B king on the edge is a mistake in my mind. You get to kill the B King without any fear of ADs blasting away while doing it. I'd be shocked if you missed here...

    Base 12 is a better setup, as the B King is buried, which I generally believe is a better defense (others may disagree, but...). I'd probably go 105 here & go with the same attack as base 13 if you can't do a Dragon Snipe (Wryhorn is much better than I am and his comments would prove valuable, especially insofar as Dragon Snipe is concerned).

    I'm leaning towards dropping loons above the laboratory (slightly favor the B King side of the lab). Barring a tesla pop, they should path nicely into the 12:00 AD. Even if they path to the cannon after the wiz tower, your attack force is coming from that direction--I wouldn't expect that cannon to be up for very long...

    #13 went like clockwork- 11 light
    #12 I did a hybrid of what you suggested, lightning at 3, 9 dragons. Sent 5 max hogs down from the lab and they did take out the AD! I sent 4 lvl 5 balloons after the far left AD, but a dragon had gotten it first. I had 5 dragons left!

    The first base is easy get lv5 hogs in ur CC and snipe that exposed ad lightning the middle one and attack closet to the other boom! 3 stars
