If Blizzard allows 12,000,000 players to change their character names, and Supercell "cant" because it's "too hard," they're publicly announcing just how inferior they are compared to Blizzard.

No offense Faithalor. I do agree that people should be allowed to change the name of the village if they want to.

It depends on how the game is programed. Renaming things can be easy or hard, practical or impractical, based on how things were programed early on.

Here is some logic to keep in mind.

1. Supercell does not want an unhappy plauerbase., since long story short, it will cut into thier funds.
2. Denying features can make some of the playerbase unhappy.

So obviously, based on those two facts, something more important than the possible loss of income from a few annoyed players is preventing them from allowing name changes. Be it technical or practical issues, it is anyone's guess until a Supercell staffer gives us an answer.

Given how Supercell doesn't volunteer much info, we'll likely not know the exact reasons, but it is safe to say they are good reasons nonetheless.

That would fall under the pratical reasons why it won't be added.

Hard enough as it is to report people in game, basicly requiring a screen shot of thier profile and/or base, to help with identifing them. For clan hoppers, the clan hash tag is useless, since that changes too often to be of much apparent use; or for villages with offensive designs that aren't in a clan.

Yes, they could add a report feature, but given the luck they had with the Global chat channel report feature, I think they have deemed it good enough that if something is so offensive, a person goes through the trouble of taking screen shots and hunts for the help and support feature, odds are it is a legit report, and not a troll reporting or something silly, frivolous, or immature.

I honestly think it would actually be pretty cool but, you have to understand it could cut in there fund, possibly drastically. If it messed them up to where there servers crashed due to sudden changes in there storage thing because hey (awesomeguy41) decides to change his name to (awesomeguy001) at they same time as say 4 other people. People would get tired of crashes and quit the game and supercell could lose money and bam, they would have to shut down clash of clans. Yes I may be jumping pretty far ahead in the future but I think it could be a possibility.
