I have one of those as well. But I did not ever once self bump it. And maybe my thread is not even the reason they did it they thought it up on their own. Ad maybe yours too. We can never know.

If it fades its because the idea did not catch anyone's interest to comment. It lacked the staying power. So any time you see a self bump its a dishonest OP trying to create false interest in this thread by spamming it to the top again. He is a poor sport too, he can't respect that people weren't interested so he spams it in front of their face again to trying to force it on them. This is such a case.

I'm also not known on these boards, nor did I have any eye popping titles or words to catch anyone's attention. I was in a hurry typing it and I just laid my ideas out as fast as I could. Maybe my presentation was the reason it didn't catch anybody's attention.
I honestly believed it was a good idea and wanted feedback from peers, not some jerk belittling me for self bumping. Not being a bad sport. You make it sound like I'm offering free gems on my website or something.

I used the. Search funtion first to see if some one started a tread on them. I have had 30-40 ideas( Some shared). But only two that made it.

One was the hero stat bar in the troop que and the other was larger darker print on stats in the player profie like gold grab.

So keep on trying. Dont worry about a popular tread. They do look at these �� i think

Its ok to keep putting out ideas. But if they don't catch its not of to keep spamming them to the top. that is just stepping on the other new ideas other guys are trying to put through because one is too overly hopped up on their own and too craving attention to respect that everyone found it uninteresting. They are deciding that theirs is better and more important than the others when they do a self bump.

Its ok to keep putting out ideas. Now constructive criticism is fine. Like I said I'm new and maybe not as savvy with forum etiquette and rules such as some one like you. That's fine. Lose the snobby elitist attitude first and maybe you'll get my respect.
I read other people's ideas and even track ones I find interesting. No reason to be a <jerk>on a video game forum.

I kinda wish you would just fade away, I just checked and out of your 4,000+ posts only 7 of them have been constructive, the rest have just been posts better written on a piece of paper and filed in a trash can.

Time of day effects whether your thread gets buried or not. Earlier today I saw a flood of newbie spam threads, which likely is peak viewing time anyway.

So putting your idea in such a strong stream of content, with threads having no post older than an hour on the first page, it doesn't really matter if your idea is good, it gets drowned out by the other threads, and by the time Mods clean it (of they clean it that day), it is too late, as it is past most people's forum page depth to bother checking.

It doesn't happen often, but had to bump a thread twice on what was a no-brainer idea that people have supported before, before the damn thing got the attention of the few significant forum goers here that actually put work in to brainstorming, or at least commenting.

It is a crapshoot. There is always a chance your idea will be washed out by a wave of newbie spam.

Speaking of which, don't expect much from putting your own 'awesome idea' in your signiture. People ignore it as much as everything else in the forum as well.

That's what I meant. I guess didn't present it too well. Was kind of in a hurry. There has to be some kind of restriction or "fair" match making to make it work.
You're grouped with 100 random people in your league. I'm sure the development behind it would be hard to make hundreds or thousands of leagues that will take account of town hall level and or overall strength. It's not much different than war, but on a much larger scale. I think the entry fee would make it more manageable.

I hate to think how huch more you would have written if you weren't in a hurry. You wrote 7 paragraphs. Also the idea would require an overhaul of the trophy system to work. Good idea though.

I type up to 300 words a minute. I could write a 5 page essay in a few minutes if it was all layed out.

Ahh so true I am still waiting on some decent feedback regarding my new troop idea <sigh> <gazza tears>

It is constructive. Just not what you want to hear. There was no name calling or anything, just true commentary. And I am correct that your idea failed to catch interest the first time through and you had to create your own false interest to bump it up again. hate the truth all you want but it is still is true.

Yeah right. I am calling bull on that. You did not read 4K posts. You are just making that up. If you really had read them ou would have seen that what you say is not true. In the big picture I support a lot.

Guys.. guys.. (gals? idk, I sometimes can't read names and just see it as a shape of symbols. ) let's not get personal here. We are here to help brainstorm ideas to improve or fix a game we like. That alone is a big enough set of problems to figure out. We don't need secondary problems generated by personality conflicts or miscommunication... especially miscommunication. Being dyslexic, I've seen more than my fair share of mistakes in communication (and feels like I still do), and can easily blow out proportion.

Just remember...

• Everyone has a bias: Which can only be suppressed and not removed, since we are human.
• Everyone has a way of saying things: Which means they may have different means for the same words, or a tone that is not like others, or a way of saying things you are not used to, yet.
• Everyone has an ego: I would worry if someone didn't have some pride and self worth, which didn't get bruised or hurt by some questioning of thier strengths, since dealing with ideas, that is bound to happen.
• Everyone likely has a mistaken idea of what they are good at: Which has been scientifically proven, and proven to be an evolutionly good thing, since it gives people the drive to do things they think are good at... Good or average at, the fact they have a drive to do stuff is the important part.
