A lot of people have really good ideas that most people in the coc community would love, but wouldn't be implemented because Supercell is profit driven. If this has been thought of before I'm sorry.
What if the way leagues worked was kind of like war with large prizes and incentives?
Seasons would only last a few days and the leagle you start in is the league you finish in.
For example if at the beginning of the season you have enough trophies to be in G1 and you earn enough trophies to move up a league you'll still be in that league. At the end of the season they could have different rewards for different accomplishments. Most defenses/attacks won, most trophies at the end of the season etc.
Now imagine how many people would boost just to get at the top of the league and prizes would be relatively worthwhile like a few hundred gems for top placers or large loot rewards for accomplishments.
The league loot bonus could also increase with the clan level just the way war bonus does as well. Maybe have individual leagues along with clan leagues outside of the top 3 clans in the world tournament. At the start of the season, you're matched against another clan or group of clans that are of similar strength and compete who gets the most trophies, attacks, defenses won etc.
It's just for the vast majority of players, I believe Supercell failed to really justify the significance of earning trophies other than being matched against a different group of random players. Loot bonus doesn't pay out much until higher leagues and being placed in a league for two weeks that could change with a day of raiding doesn't make sense to even have rankings.
Incentives and cheap satisfaction will keep people happy. That's just my two cents. Love this game and I feel like they could really make a killing if they capitalized on their strengths more.
