GoHo isn't going to be very common because alot of TH8s don't have leveled up hogs. Another thing I've noticed when at war w/ most other clans is that they can't execute Mass Drags and/or Dragoon attacks to save their lives. Most can't funnel in troops to save their lives or know when and how to drop loons, especially back end ones.

Your example of the 813 Dragoon attack used Rage/Heal. The 813 doesn't use Rage/Heal, it uses 3 Lightning. It's not a guarantee 3 star but this base can be 3-starred w/ the 813. Rebuttal with "this" and "that" all you want, but here's how.....

-Zap top left/right AD and attack from the other side w/ the attack line coming straight from the AD.

- w/ the right cuts Dragons will funnel where you want, and w/ the right timing dropping 2-4 loons behind them will help snipe out the AT, Tesla and AD. So what if the loons don't go straight for the AD. It'll still speed up the process so list every hypothetical scenario you can possibly imagine!

-Once the Drags are close to drawing fire from the Bottom AD, I have my BK working on the bottom drawing fire from the bottom AT.

-Once the AD is locked on the Drags the Loons are on their way. Max Loons from the CC, and the rest of the inventory loons all split up among the AT and 2 cannons. Say what you want, but that many loons simultaneously dropped WILL take down that AD.

-It would be pretty easy to save a loon or 2 to snipe out the last AT.

Before you go on your novel long rebuttal.......

-Yes it has to be perfectly executed
-Yes I could run out of time.
-Yes your spread out base makes the deployment timing difficult.
-Yes the new Air Sweeper could make all that even more difficult.

I'd rather use GoWiPe, or GoHog IMHO, but it can be done through the air. Problem is most TH8 players I come across aren't used to executing an attack w/ precision, it's usually spam drags Rage-Rage-Rage, drop CC loons and pray. It's a solid layout, but by no means extremely difficult to 3 star. Problem is most players don't realize all these concepts until TH9.

I have used the term "average clasher" a lot of times and what I meant by that is those clashers that doesn't really care much about actually planning their attack and usually just scout the base once and quickly attack it sending troops somewhere and improvise halfway through the attack. The "elite clasher" however are those clashers that plan everything right from troop deployment and timing to spell timing and willing to go out of the traditional attacks and use other troops that they think would be best to use against certain bases.

When I was designing this base, I'm just getting attacked by nothing but dragons. Very rarely, I do get hogs and GoWiPe but the real bulk of the attacks I'm getting is dragons. At that time, I wasn't really exposed that much to the forums and I still haven't discovered the "elite side" of clash of clans playerbase so I have no idea attacks such as GoHo, HoLo and other variants actually exists and that's pretty much the situation what a lot of people is in. They don't know the "elite" attacks. It's usually just "lure, send in a pack of hogs and heal here and heal there." So when I got some comments about the GoHo, I quickly looked it up and I found a bunch more "elite" attacks (most are exclusively for TH9). But not a lot of people know those kind of attacks and you'll still get the traditional hogs most of the time so I did not worry about that. I keep the base as it is, fending off the dragons.

Your strategy would work. But nothing's stopping any dragon + loon combination when executed properly from destroying any other TH8s.

Should I get worried about attacks that only a very little amount of players know how to execute properly? No.

Is this the best anti-dragon base? There is no best base but I think this is very good against the average clasher. Way better than the "make a large box at the middle, put town hall, clan castle and all three air defenses inside and put other buildings somewhere."

Did I say this is very hard to three star? No. No base (especially TH8s) cannot be three starred by other TH8s by skilled players. I only said this has been three starred very rarely implying that the average clasher has trouble executing an attack that will successfully three star this.

So yeah. I'm not claiming this is the best base. I'm only saying this is the base that worked best for me when fending off dragons. What I'm getting to is the skilled clasher can three star any base but this should hold up against the average clasher.

What a shame! The base layout and presentation was impeccable...if only the pictures came out right, more players would've been trying this base for sure.
Nonetheless, I pretty much agree with everything, except that I'm skeptical about the vulnerability of an all DRAG attack from the South with 2Rage &1Heal. With luck, if the DRAGS don't stray to the sides, I dare say a 100% win. I'm trying this base in our clan's next war. The images were top notch quality, thank you...and looking forward to more from you.

It's very weird because I can see the pictures just fine on my computer. I can see them in my phone as well. I can even see them using a different laptop.

Great base layout! I am a th9 and I have to say, if I were still a th8 I would use this base layout! I even think that if I try to 3 star this base with Dragons, I would not succeed. Great post, great layout.

I switched out the builder hut to the left of the archer tower (the one right below barb altar) and have it facing south. The nature of this base is so complex that I don't think it really matters where it goes as long as it is inside the base I think

Thanks for more positive replies. The reason why I still haven't bothered updating it with the air sweeper is I am already at town hall 9 and I can't really test the base with an air sweeper (in fact, I haven't even built the air sweeper yet lol)
