Thread: New troop idea - Riak

    New troop idea - Riak

    Name - Riak (pronounced ree-ack)
    Looks Like - Lvl 1: Large, dark red spider with long-ish black pincers
    Lvl 2: Same as Lvl 1
    Lvl 3: Color changes to a dark purple, and pincers enlarge
    Lvl 4: Same as Lvl 3, except pincers receive metal tips

    Type - NOT a tank unit
    Runs to walls, and climbs over them, but is slower than walking (walking speed: 32, wall climbing speed: 16)
    Targets all building types (so it is smart to destroy all camps, collectors, etc. that might be outside of walls before deploying the Riak)
    Has special resistance to inferno towers (20% less damage from infernos, increasing 2% each upgrade)

    Attacking - Opens pincers to attack, then bites down, pulls head back, and resets position (whole move takes one second) and instantly attacks again
    Damage per Second-Lvl 1: 60
    -Lvl 2: 70
    -Lvl 3: 78
    -Lvl 4: 86

    Health - Lvl 1: 360
    Lvl 2: 410
    Lvl 3: 460
    Lvl 4: 510

    Seems interesting, but the camp space would really help before really evaluating the troop. I like the general idea, but frankly don't see a point in changing the move speed based on whether or not it's climbing over a wall as that amount of time would be puny and I doubt would really affect much. Also don't think the inferno resistance should go up each level, just simpler to keep it at 20%.

    It'd be better if it actually had an objective: not a hog that attacks any buildings

    New idea: The Riak stops for half a second, then climbs over

    Another idea: He IS a tank unit but doesn't attack defenses, so it is harder to use him. If you give him extraordinary health, but if he doesn't attack defenses right away, it would even that out. I see the flaws with this, but Im sure theres a way this can work.

    Summary: The Riak has golem health, targets regular buildings, has ~2/5 pekka damage, and is stronger against infernos

    Not sure that the slight inferno immunity is enough to make this as a usuable troop

    The troop space is too little for something that is a fire resistant spider that can climb walls. It's a good idea for TH10s that struggle attacking infernos though. I'd recommend a troop space of 8 or 12.
