Also I totally agree. We should remove it. We should instead put a good read symbol or a complex idea symbol.

That's one of my points, the rating system feels almost pointless. So fix it or remove it.

Like I said, some of your ideas are indeed good. I will support those still. But you will have to accept that sometimes its just that the other threads get entertaining. The fact is, since your ideas have more merit the thread becomes more of a dry thoughtful discussion instead of the spicy entertaining one. I'm not even going to begin to try arguing that's fair, its not. But it is jus how human nature works. (Lol, and please don't take this as a suggestion you should start trolling guys on your threads so to create drama on them.)

One time I did a less dry thread (Babysitting your game? Wait, I didn't sign up for this?!) and had to backtrack and explain to people the real intent and literally wirten intent, over the assumed intent when people just skimmed through the posts and didn't actually read. (just can't win).

Seems like people in general can take either to the point threads or drama. Soon as I shown any strong emotions, and almost regardless of what I type, someone has to read between the lines and infer stuff that wasn't there, because it was used before by someone else to mean what they assumed. Even with "..." and "," with word flow that is supposed to operate like natural speech, and "hmm",s and " huh"s, and censored expletives that are more 'reader fills in the blanks' most times, among other things... (and oh Yeah! these parentheses with side comments and emotes!) people still get it wrong. Likely if they read it more out loud, it than skim, they'd pick up on that subtle, or not so sutble context clues. But like that always work. Even face to face, with even more non verbal cues to work from, people can still talk past each other.

So I have to be some dry but blut agent of logic just to herd cats and keep from getting sidetracked. Then they get bored and leave, and I'm left wondering what I did wrong.

OK yeah. This topic sucks. Not much to debate (fix or remove, period), no opposing people unwilling to back down, no dense twit that repeats what they said before as if it would magically convert everyone to thier way of thinking, no chaffing comments, no implied insults... Should just put in racy barely legal thumbnail pics, and hope that keeps interest up in my posts.

To be honest, I never pay it any attention, and can't remember the last time I bothered rating a thread....

Lol butthurt forum police upset because all his ideas suck and subsequently all his threads get terrible ratings. Maybe if he didnt spend so much time on here belittling other members threads his ratings would be a bit higher lol. Either way the current thread rating system works just fine, everyone is entitled to a vote

I think a fanboy paid a visit to another thread of mine ([Brainstorm] Shield Tweaks... of.. some kind or another), because how else can you get a 1 star out of 5 rating on a thread with 0 (zero) posts? You can't rate your thread as you make it. You have to post a comment, with a rating, and then delete it.

Just goes to show that the system is highly flawed. I'd say fix it, but removing it would be just as easy, and simplify things, here and elsewhere. We don't need some half ignored system that can be manipulated and steer newbies that don't know better towards or away threads unfairly. Fanboy## has done a good job of showing just how easy it is do to, several times.
