So it's pretty straight forward really. In the same way you have bombs and spring traps, I imagined a lava based trap whereby once a unit steps onto it, a small pool of lava is released.
There are a few ways I feel that it could work:
1. The damage dealt begins off very mediocre but gradually increases over time. The damage could perhaps begin at 5dps and increase to 200 in the space of 20 seconds. Similarly to an inferno tower. This is suggesting that the heat gradually builds up and burns the units that are affected more and more each second. Once the unit leaves the lava their health ceases to drain.
2. The damage dealt starts off at high of 50dps and slowly decreases, implying that it is cooling down over time. For example the first 10 seconds could deal 50dps, the next 10 seconds deal 25 dps and the final 10 seconds deal 10 dps.
3. Linking the first two ideas together, the period it deals damage for could be split into 3 phases, each phase lasting 10 seconds. It would deal damage in the same way as an inferno tower and damge dealt increases over time. The first phase would obviously deal the most damage, starting off at 5dps increasing to 200dps max. The second phase would start of at 3dps and increase to 100dps. The third phase would begin in 1 dps and increase to 50 dps. This is probably
The most plausible suggestion for how the damage is dealt.
The radius the lava would cover should be relatively small to encourage players to think carfully about the positioning of the them, maybe 1.5 tiles. The lava should last for around 30 seconds.
It should be available at TH10, and would link in the the lava theme of the level 10 town hall and level 6 dark barracks.
I'm struggling to believe that this idea could be original as its so simple, but I couldn't find this exact idea anywhere else. Constructive criticism is welcome.
Peace

And yes, as fas I know, I'm not in this subforum a lot, but I can't recall someone else with something like it.
