Thumbs Up Yes, 1000+ gems will prevent exploits

    Before this thread gets deleted...
Make it cost 1000, 1500, even 2000 gems.

It can't be terrible difficult for the developers to implement.
The village name is just a tuple in a database.

The main arguments against name change I've heard are:

    1. It reduces accountability.
      • But if it costs 1000+ gems, it will be impossible to change very often.

    2. Encourages selling accounts.
      • Who cares really? What do I care if someone buys an account? Where is the victim?

You are self bumping a ruled out thread. If you can't respect the forum then I am guessing you tend to not respect other things and that is how you earned whatever reputation you are trying to escape. How about 100k gems? ($714.28, the kind of money you would have to ask your parents for which means telling them why you have to change)

I did once see a guy that wasn't just talk that he would pay for a name change, he did it. He bought another account and came around with it and nobody knew who he was. The problem with that plan is he only changed who he was but did not change what he was so pretty soon that account no one wanted around either. His parting shot was to tell everyone how stupid they were for not picking up on who he was really. Yup, fooled us.

It was not a good idea because some little twerp that does not care how his action bear on others just keeps making the same bed over and over. So its a waste of time for SC to ever consider something that would most of the time be used for escaping the accountability that is in fact one of their methods for keeping down the problems. (its not totally effective, but it still helps along with the pother stuff they do)

And those guys saying 'one time' are just trying to kid everyone they say it to. As soon as these guys re-earn their bad reputation they will then complain it should not only be once. To think otherwise would be naïve.

Then there is the software changes and accounting overhead. So you are asking them to pay money to help support bad behavior within their game.

And bottom line is it is ruled out by the game company so I don't know what you think you are accomplishing misbehaving on the forum so that you can argue with other users about it. I take that as just another sign that you should live with what ever reputation you have because its a good guess you would not earn it again.

And the punch line - As you keep asking guys to vote they are voting against you. See any message in that?

If everything angers you then you will spend your entire life being angry.
If everything pains you then you will spend your entire life in pain.

When in a clan and you changed your name, a message in chat will appear saying the following:
    <Old Name>
has changed their name to <New Name>

...In order to avoid being confused with the following questions:

    • Who's this guy and who invited him?
    • Where'd our leader go? How'd it become that guy?
    • What happened to our co-leader? Who made him Co?! Kick him!!
    • etc., etc.

In global chat and you changed your name, upon viewing the user's profile: a button (which would be a new feature) will appear. Once you tap on it, a pop-up of the user's past activities (except for Battle Logs) will appear and at the topmost part, they'll see the message saying:
    <Old Name> changed their name to <New Name>
    57m ago

Where the "57m ago" thing is an example of when he/she changed his/her name.

    Good enough?

I don't see a problem with this. Your suggestion doesn't hurt anyone. "It's a REQUEST people." Why they're all getting defensive and protective over this is beyond me. I see no harm in this option and vote YESSSS!!! I actually want to change my name to the clan name I created. I only wish I thought of it earlier. I'll make a request to change it from admin. Sure doesn't hurt to ask. What's the worst thing that could happen? They saying NO? Not a problem, I think I could live on. Haha
