    New Troop: Dark Elf

    New Troop: Dark Elf

    Name: Dark Elf
    Movement: Fast 24 (same as Archer)
    Favorite Targets: Any
    Type of attack: Ranged 4 tiles (Little bit longer than Archers, less than Archer Queen. Or make it 5 tiles if it's not good enough)
    Cost: 10 Dark Elixir (+1 per level)
    Damage Per Second: 12 (+4 per level)
    Attack Speed: 1 second
    Health: 16 (+4 per level)
    Housing Cost: 2
    Training Time: 25 seconds
    Special Abilities, Resistances or Weaknesses: None (maybe invisible to skeletons?)
    Unlock: Level 4 Dark Barracks
    Research: 30000 DE (5 days), +10000 DE per level, +1 day per level
    Upgrades: Up to level 5.
    Description:
    Looks like a darker elf. Using larger bows than the Archer.

    Strategies: This unit is similar to the Archer. They have a little bit longer range but not exceeding that of the Archer Queen. Maybe the Archer Queen can summon some Dark Elves (1 per 5 levels) at a later date? Because of the added range, they have fewer Health than that of a level 1 Archer to start. The Damage is the same as a level 3 Archer but they can only be upgraded to Level 5 for a Max damage of 32, which exceeds that of a level 7 Archer. Their disadvantage is their housing cost and their Health. At max Health, they are at 36, which is lower than a level 5 Archer. They are more susceptible to dying sooner than an Archer from Mortars.

    Dark Elves would be used in attacks where people want to save on the Elixir and use up their Dark Elixir instead. This will allow bases to farm MORE Elixir. Farming for Elixir using Dark Elixir will be anticipated. With the current troops available in the Dark Barracks, Dark Elves and Minions would be the lowest troops costs. People would probably create all Dark Elves and Minion raids to quickly raise their Elixir storage. People will also be able to farm faster by producing farming units out of the Barracks AND their Dark Barracks (for those who don't like using Minions) to keep an all ground attack.

    In wars, they would be used to pick off buildings at a longer range than an Archer.

    On defense, from the clan castle, they have better range than an archer so they may end up staying on one side of a wall more frequently than the Archers.

    To eliminate the issue of making an Archer obsolete, housing cost is made as 2 and DE cost is a little bit higher than the Minion. I can imagine a farming run consisting of 100 Dark Elves and costing 1000 DE to create. Having 200 Dark Elves would definitely make the Archer obsolete.

    If you spend 1000 De to farm, your a moron. No offense, but I don't farm in champion league lol.

    then make it 500. reducing the production cost to 5 is a possibility.

    how does this affect the gameplay? it sounds essentially the same as an archer. the one extra space will not help anything.

    Two things -
    1. Level 4 Dark barracks are reserved to golems. So your dark elf can appear only on lvl 7.

    2. Very, very weak troop. Let compare him to archer lvl 6 - elf/archer :
    DPS - 12/22
    Hitpoints - 16/44
    Housing - 2/1
    training time - 25/25

    And its dark cost is very high
