**FYI: This guide was done before the TH was weighed in matchmaking so it is now outdated**
Sub-200 farming is an often overlooked strategy. Not many people use it, but those that do gain piles and piles of loot. For some reason, as soon as your trophy count is less than 200, the game starts matching you against people with a similar townhall level. For example, I am a TH9 and I can attack anyone TH7-TH10.
If you want to farm sub-200, there are a few questions you should ask yourself:
1) Can you commit large amounts of time to raiding? I personally raid 2-3 hours at a time. If you take breaks from raiding then people will push your trophies far up, sometimes to 400 or 500, and you'll have to drop again later.
2) Are you able to get relatively far into bases with your attacking army? Most loot is held in storages, in fact in the past week of being sub-200 I've found only one inactive collector raid.
3) Do you have an Archer Queen? The AQ has helped me secure storage attacks time after time. It is possible to raid sub-200 without her, but my suggestion is to wait if you don't have her yet.
4) Are you persistent? Some days I can't find any loot at all in sub-200 while other days I can raid 42k de in a two hour raiding session. If it doesn't work the first time, try, try again.
If, after reading those questions, you still think sub-200 sounds like fun, here are my personal steps to success:
1) Drop down below 200 trophies. If you are sitting on 200, 201, 202, 203, or anything above that, this will not work.
2) Use a full barch army with heal/rage spells. I use rage on the troops to hit storages and heal on my heroes to lower their sleeping time before my next raid.
3) Extract storages! I usually search until I find a base with storages towards the outside of my base. I also only like to use about half of my army per raid, but I will use more of it if I need to.
4) Ignore outside THs, the goal is to lose as many raids as possible instead of winning them. There is no loot bonus, and every star you win will cost you 30 seconds or so of dropping trophies. This may not seem like much, but it is much easier to not have to drop than it is
5) If at all possible, don't even shield your enemy. If you can hit a base and steal a decent amount of loot (1000 de or 180k elixir/gold) and not shield them, there is a fairly large chance you will run into the same base within a small number of nexts.
To be honest, everyone's experience in sub-200 is different. My raiding strategy may not work for you at all. If that's the case, develop your own! Share your failures and your successes with this forum
So there you go. If you all have any more questions, let me know and I'll answer them as soon as possible. Good luck in your raiding!
