Enable and require password for kicking and editing of clan settings

Even in a well run clan, sometimes a co-leaders device is insecure, and someone plays a bad joke.

To prevent this, I ask for password restriction before being allowed to kick members, or edit the clan settings.

I actually would like this feature, say my child gets hold of my device and starts booting people because he sees lots of flashing screens and he likes the colour green, I know the easy reply would be you should keep your device safer, but accidents can happen, this is quite a good safeguard.

Your clan may not be as well run as you think if this is a problem you have. Your members are not people they are accounts. The behavior of that account is the collective of all people with access to it. If anyone's account is prone to bad behavior it does not matter if it was the member, a nasty little brother, a poorly supervised child, bratty friend, or whatever. The bottom line is that behavior is coming into your clan so you need to address accordingly.

Example - We had a co leader who's little brother thought it funny to sneak his phone, troll the clan with fould language in the feed, and kick people. The first time it happened I advised him it was his responsibility so he told his brother no to do it. The LB took this as a challenge and started trying to sneak it when they guy was in the shower etc.. So I demoted the guy to member and tld him it had to be that way untiol he could get things under control there. He stressed over and over that it was his LB not him, and I would point out how that made no difference to the end result. Eventually I had to kick him for too much cussing and threats in the feed (it happened several times). he wanted to come back and after he password protected his phone we let him. he has since worked his way back up to co.

I actually have to agree with the person that advised to lock your phone. Our phones are many things in todays world and if you are not properly securing it you are exposed to many much more severe things than damage just within a video game. A password would be nuisance to those that do not have a problem securing their phone so its not fair to penalize that contingent. And anyhow since the video game is really one of the less important parts of life a smart phone gives access to the attention needs to be made to protecting the bigger exposure by locking the entire phone. As far as exiting the game, any time you pay no attention to it for a few minutes it disconnects and needs reset (so effectively exits.) This is regardless if your phone locks too or not.

I also think the trouble a child could get into if 'accidents happen' goes well beyond a video game or even a smartphone so I think in those cases the protection is needed at a much higher level than a password for one function inside one game.

Sorry, not being solicitous or trying for a [ut down, but those really were the points that jumped out at me.

Whilst I agree with your stance on this, these type of things could be entirely elliminated with this extra safeguard IMO.

Ah, but then the person leaves the feature unlocked (no harder to forget than leaving entire phone unlocked) and it happens anyhow. And the majority is not having this problem so to most the password would be a needless nuisance foisted upon them just because of a few. So I really don't see it being a difference maker. Just a needless nuisance.

Thanks for not getting sensitive at what I said in my prior post. I was trying to state those views honestly without being offensive about it.

Also, as I said in the upper part of that, the OP should look at holding the account itself to be where the accountability (no pun intended) is assigned. A leader really cares not who's hands are on the phone, just what comes into the clan via that device.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

If you stand by that quote then I should be free to have the original option or not - but I don't, true liberty can never be obtained because it encroaches on others 'freedom'

The fact, in short, is that freedom, to be meaningful in an organized society must consist of an amalgam of hierarchy of freedoms and restraints. ~Samuel Hendel
