For one, it is not a video. Battle replays are scripted actions.
Basicly, the server tells your client fire up the game engine, and auto play an already done battle, and gives a small file, literally called a 'script', by people doing computer programming. It is a set of codes and commands that plays out the battle, and is no different than if you were deploying things, expect that the script has you locked out of deploying units, and deploys units exactly how they were for that recorded battle.
Second, you need a reliable file player.
You just can't run the script on any old (or new) player. It is purpose built for a specific version of Clash of Clans. The game engine specs gets updated every now and then, and since the rules have changed on how things behave, this makes old scripts potentially glitch and unfaithful to the original battle record it was supposed to represent. This is why replays are cleared out wholesale after server maintenance, as a precautionary measure. For your idea to be practical, the script would have to be translated from the optimized code only meant for CoC, into a more robust, reverse compatible, file for a player Supercell creates, or into some common visual format that runs on an existing player.
That said... it isn't impossible. Far from it. But being worth the effort would be a challenge.
The best way I can think of, just from a technical standpoint, would be some flash animation progam (or some other object oriented animation player. Maybe something in 'Unity'? Idk, not something I have worked with before) that Supercell writes up, holding much of the game graphics in it, and generating more verbose and rugged scripts for it to run. The different format scripts would still be small and fine for client side use, but hardly worth using on thier servers since they are hardly optimized to be generated and stored on a server meant to service millions of players.
The big question is, is such a thing worth the time and effort for player gain? And that's the buttom line to this whole thing.
