If war hoppers were prevented from leaving, they would cause more trouble that if they were allow to leave. (e.g. make his base really easy to 3 star). And they wouldn't even attack.

If you get your way and players are forced to stay or penalized for leaving . . . <fade to foreshadowed scene>

    1) D-bag joins
    2) You start war
    3) D-bag wants to leave but can't (SUCCESS!!! He is stuck with you now!!!)
    4) D-bag is a d-bag and wants out, so he decides to get kicked out
    5) So he fills war castles with goblins and wallbreakers
    6) And fills donations with goblins and wall breakers
    7) And turns your clan chat into something that makes global look like bible study
    8) And defames your clan on global
    9) Then wastes both attacks in the war anyway
9a) Set their base up so it is super easy to 3*
    10) And continues to fill war requests with ♥♥♥♥ troops
    11) Maybe even comes to the forums to badmouth you and your clan
    12) You kick them out
    or
    12) Your other clan members leave because you won't kick out the D-bag

Remember, this is already a person who doesn't care if they hurt your clan. Long story short, you are requesting a way to force people who don't want to be in your clan, who you don't even want in your clan, to be stuck in your clan. NOTHING good can come of this. Bad idea every time it is suggested.

The other idea about allowing co to fight extra battle can be exploited if the co is a high level member.

Also, in an effort to not only help the OP understand the horrible repercussions of their idea, here is a list of many of the most common things successful clans do to prevent "D-bag hoppers" from being a nuisance (a nuisance, not a problem). Quoting myself from a recent thread again . . .

The truly nefarious hoppers are usually very easy to spot and deal with. Players who are genuinely searching for a clan are simply part of the game, just like people searching for the right job are a part of real life. What you have hear is a clan management problem. One all of us have experienced and learned from. It has been discussed on the forum many times. Here's how most of us have solved this.

    1) Set the clan to invite only.
    2) Don't give elder to anybody who can't conduct themselves as an adult
    3) Don't give Co-leader to anybody you don't trust
    4) Make sure both elders and Co's understand that it is ok to accept new members
    5) Make sure they understand they are expected to BOOT new members if
5a) They introduce themselves by asking for troops
    5b) Introduce themselves with profanity
5c) Introduce themselves with some form of "rate my base!!!!"
    5d) Don't respond when welcomed
5e) Ask for elder/Co in the first conversation
5f) Start filling castles with ♥♥♥♥
    6) Clan rule that new members don't participate in the first war (Opted out by leader/co)
    7) Only recruit 1-2 new players between each war, none during

Others may chime in with additional ideas but those are the basic ones. Follow those and hoppers will end 99% instantly. Not to mention you will crack a smile when you apply your boots to their crack.
All of us clan leader types have experienced this and learned to preventing through our own leadership skills and clan rules. There is no need to institute a system that will punish the most social and giving players while making the lowest quality players more destructive.

In my time on the forum here I still have yet to see the answer to these simple questions. Why do you want to force somebody that you don't want in your clan, to be stuck in your clan? What does that say about you as a person?

My Clan is Invite only, thank you very much. If you're not going to be of help, don't offer your useless inane opinion. I can not, nor could you, stop ANYONE from being a douchebag and leaving just as war starts. Some people have no loyalty. That is not my fault.
You need to come of your mad as it is blocking your ears. The guys here are indeed offering you help even if its not in the form you were hoping (you wanted everyone to just agree with your suggestion and be done with it)

I know(and am sorry) it is harsh to hear, but it is indeed the leaders fault when they have this problem. They are not taking the appropriate measures. Its not to troll you that they say its your fault, its because its important to realize this or you will never understand who it is that has to take the steps to prevent it. Once a leader does understand its their job they take the right steps themselves and the problem goes away.

I see you have already been given some advice in things that were reposted here. (read Igeageg's carefully please, its good) I am giving one more. Some of it repeats what you already heard and I am sorry I am too lazy to edit that out so here is the full paste....

However SC has a policy to never post negative stats and this would go against that. So this might not be directly 'ruled out' but via that policy it still is.

Here are some things you can do...

    • Make guys sit through at least one full war before joining into one. Depending on your schedule that will be at least 2 days, (and maybe you want to make it one war or 4 days whichever comes first) a hopper will leave before that. Remember that the biggest weakness hoppers have is a lack of patience so use that against them.
    • Watch for unexpired war timers. The more time left the bigger the alarm that is. Maybe a guy with an hour left finished out his war, but guys closer to a full 25 hours that looks like they ditched someone. A good reliable war guy will as a course of pride still follow through with their war obligations even in bad situation they plan to ditch as soon as it is over. Guys that don't are proving themselves not to be the real deal however they want to believe otherwise. So ignore what they tell you and know what you are looking at.
    • In absence of negative stats use the positive ones to infer what the story probably is. What level is the guy? That gives you an idea how long he has been around. How much war loot and/or war stars has he gotten vs how long he has been playing? A habitual war hopper will have very low numbers.
    • Ask him. A lot of times they say things like the other clan stinks or they don't donate. Ask him the clan name. If he won't give it ("I don't remember" = ♥♥, they are avoiding telling you and that's an answer right there) If he does then take a look at them. If he says they never donate then check their numbers to see how true. if he says they are bad at war check their wins. If the story doesn't add up you might not want to start trusting the guy.

Use the above in combination. If their story and other indicators are not adding up well enough extend the waiting period before you are willing to rely on them in a war. Always be up front. Tell them what you see that concerns you. Its fair to give them a chance to speak to it and often informative if it leads them into BSing that you then catch. The legitimate guys will understand exactly what is going on and will understand also if something looks bad and they need to let you take your time. The ones that can't handle answering a few questions or act like they are put out to have to wait will almost always be guys you are better off losing.

Never feel beholden to anyone. Some guys believe or at least represent themselves to be some sort of prize that you should be after. (Yes, there are hoppers who actually think you should feel blessed at your good fortune to have been hopped by them) Don't get excited because they have a high level base. A single reliable level 50 is worth more than a hundred unreliable level 100s. (and in war it's even true that sometimes a reliable level 50 is worth more than a reliable level 100) If they are not reliable then they are nothing. That's important. Also don't get flustered at any talk that you are blowing your 'big chance' if you make them decide to leave. There are NO single players in all of coc that by themselves are anyone's big chance. No one guy makes or breaks a clan. I have received many parting speeches about how I blew it and have now lost out on my chance to save my clan (we are on a 17 war win streak, how much saving do we need) and screwed my entire clan that will now be ruined. We are still waiting for that ruin to hit, but I'll let you know.

If everything angers you then you will spend your entire life being angry.
If everything pains you then you will spend your entire life in pain.

I used to share your opinion about clan hoppers, I even started a similar thread about a way to punish them in a "just" way for screwing my clan with a -2 attack/3 star swing in wars. People ripped my head off in the forum & I fumed because people blamed me for poor leadership instead of calmly explaining the changes I needed to make. Let me put it to you this way: it probably isn't your fault they left, but you (or whoever started war) are the one who put them in a position to screw your clan by including them in war. The reality is that anything more drastic than the clan war timer would quickly be abused and exploited. While it IS frustrating when you get burned by a random player you were hoping would strengthen your clan, the best way to build a clan is carefully. Just explain the rules to potential new members, have patience, and it will pay off.

Please, please stop assuming there is no way to stop war jumpers... There is so much to do from supercell, offering more stats about players performance, locking them up some way, scalonizing rewards. So please offer solutions and not more problem to the player.

It is not an assumption really. Its about understanding how people and clans work.

You have suggested SC could offer more stats as an example...but recruiters would need to a) read these stats, b) know how to interpret them and c) USE THE TOOLS SC HAS ALREADY PROVIDED. Clan management is still the key and no amount of statistics will assist a leader who can‘t manage.

You also suggested locking them or penalising war rewards. This penalizes everyone regardless of their intentions. Any changes to enforce a penalty will change the game fundamentally for many players who operate within an alliance of clans.

The OP has referenced a problem. We have offered solutions. Everyone who has posted advice (often almost identical) to the OP has done so because they KNOW FROM THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE that these suggested CW management techniques will resolve the OP’s complaint.

People who choose to leave clans, during war or otherwise, do so for a variety of reasons. Do not assume they can be chucked into a “bad person box” and they require bashing around the head and shoulders.

The reasons people leave a war is not of the matter of the game. The game has to penalize or reward his efforts to maintain on it. Or in the lesser extent expose his trayectorie so that clan leader can opt them in or out. If not you are penalizing small clans that few have to say about recruiting and waring with new members.

That's just stupid. What if the clan was just that bad? What if you got kicked for no reason during war?

The game doesn't and shouldn't post negative stats. Do you think the OP would like it if everyone could see her presumably horrible war win/loss ratio? Or if people could see how high the turnover is?

Yours is a valid point. Mine is not an estupid one keep your level. You see its very hard for an small clan to view how commited a player is. So recently I am looking at the war hero achievement. Well why doesnt this achivemnet gets easier to view when opting to go to war?
