    copy player base

visit a player base see a base design that looks great, click a button that says copy base and apply it to your base, obviously you would need the same defences and buildings as the person you were copying from, and make sure trees n ♥♥♥♥ are clear, but the system already compensates for that.

i think its a cool idea that would save time

I agree, but you can just copy by looking at their base and make it chunk by chunk, until you have a finished product

This is just kind of unfair for people who spend hours creating their bases, then having little guys like you and poof, it's no longer original.

There is a difference between blindly copying and understanding what is duplicated.

Also, original layout builders often modify and tweak thier design, so copying version 1.3.2 may not be as good as version 1.4b they come out with the next day after toying with it on the layout editor late one night. Or they are upgrading something and have to shift things around to cover up a hole in the defence, and stray from the intended plan of the layout.

Someone blindly copying a base is not going to know what all decision the person made in making the base, and can easily ruin what they copied by modifying it the wrong way (and then blame the person they copied it from for being a noob base builder and copy someone else )

Beisdes, it isn't like a layout is copyright or patent protected. There are websites dedicated to base building, many of them of people wanting fo show off thier work to others and see if thier idea is a good one.

Also, a copied base has many aspects that are not readily apparent just by look at them, especially by someone inexperienced with that Town Hall level. A person that just copies and never looks into how things work is doomed to be forever frustrated with looking for the 'perfect' base, which is impossible becase there is no perfect, nor do they know enough to figure out how to find a base that is 'perfect enough' for them.

So.. go ahead, copy my work, I dare you. Just like copying off of a friend's math homework, you are still not learning anything until you study on your own. And when you do study, you don't have to copy anymore, because now you can create, and take in aspects of different bases you see and put them into your own.
