Thread: Getting attacked 10 times in a row with no shield!!!

    I usually always leave my TH outside in hopes of getting a free shield to save my loot. However, this past weak I decided to push trophies and I have gotten 52 defends this season alone. I'm a new TH 10, with maxed TH 9 defenses. My Unbreakable record is only 184/250 so that should tell you something. It's getting so costly to keep rearming my traps... I haven't lost that much loot but it's costing me 150k+ gold (if not more) to rearm my traps after losing 20k to a weak attacker. Basically, I've stopped reloading my gold traps because I'm still getting defends, just my xbows and infernos I've been rearming.

    the whole point of the game is to challenge you. its not supposed to be an automatic things should go your way. Its not just what you are focusing on, everything in the game is about choices that each have upside and downside. Its making the right choices for the right times that have some players doing better than others.

    You are saying you don't want to have to make choices. You want your choices to have only upside so that it is easier for you to make them and live with them. But if that was possible the game would turn boring and not hold people's interest. I think your struggle to get this is because you are focused on what would be good for you personally and not seeing the bigger picture of how the game has to work.

    So what you're saying is, the game was set up so the only possible way to keep people from attacking your base is by saying "screw defenses and village design, i'll just make it easy for the attacker and throw my Town Hall outside to get a shield"?

    I think you've drastically misread my Original Post and think I'm merely complaining about an incident that occurred to me alone. How could you possibly not see the issue here?

    Defenders are currently required to move their Town Hall in a position where it can easily be destroyed in order to get a shield. Why? Because our traps are not reset. So when you go to sleep, wake up 8 hours later and have another 5 people who've taken all your resources not because you had a poorly designed base, but because all your traps are already popped from the first attacker.

    It is clearly a flaw in the design of the game, not of any individual.

    The issue has nothing to do with me at all. It has nothing to do with my base or anyone else's that I know. It has nothing to do with me losing resources.

    The sole issue is that the current system is geared towards the attacker only. The defender is left defenseless after the first attacker. That is the only issue.

    I agree with the multiple people who have said move your TH outside, for a few gems that you receive for that achievement it really isn't worth it! If you want to farm then move your TH outside, if you want to push move resources outside!! your call

    I find your problem self-inflicted... You decided that getting an achievement was more important than protecting your resources...

    If you reconsider, put town hall outside and your problem is solved...

    This has nothing to do with getting an achievement or my own self loathing! This is about an imbalance in how the current system is designed. I was using those cases as an example of what damage this imbalance causes.

    Let me tell you from experience that this is an up hill battle. People are too used to the current 'fix' they use to 'solve' the defence issue by burying thier heads in the sand via maximizing the game shield time.

    Either be prepared to fight the worse of habit and ignorance (note ignorance ≠ stupid) with whatever logic you can think of, or just quit the game. There are reasons why Supercell hasn't fixed the defence issue yet, and one of the main reasons I think is to not add something they will regret that is worse than the first version of using Elixir for wall upgrade feature (which we all know got backtracked and still have people @#$%&ing over it).

    And whatever you do (like I see you doing this anyway), don't ever, ever, suggest any ideas that make the exposed Town Hall layout less viable. Even if you come up with what seems like a good counter benefit, you'll have people ripping into your idea and your personal character, because they will hate the game as much as I currently do if forced out of thier hiding hole from the defence issue you are just now acutely aware of.

    I do wish you luck on your efforts.
    By the way, less bitter now. Typing here, and ranting in the How do you feel when raided? seems to have helped. Also seeing someone else realize that defence is so screwed up, and isn't willing to bend to common coping norms, and actually wants it addressed helps as well.

    Do a few search, I've said a few times about being like the local crazy with the tin foil hat and wierd ideas.

    The defence issue is a hard thing to crack, because what is needed is an entirely new set of features to counter the bitter feelings generated by this game.

    Yes, this is just a game, but people invest time into it, and then progress gets destroyed with seemingly no way to counter. Never mind the fact your village auto repairs for free and you can't be looted for more than a set small percentage (ratio wise). Your base got violatied.

    The intro for my thread Encourage Higher Risk Raids seems to put it best. Just rarely any good feedback from gameplay with your defence.

    If your in s1 to g2 drop trophies to s2 or go to g1. The areas first mentioned are th 9 hotspots atm. If you want to stay where you are, get a sheild via shop or th.
